Buying the electric pickup truck and want the cheapest model with one great feature? One of the most asked-for features of any model is always heated seats. For the F-150 Lightning, you’ll have to pay a little extra to get it. Unfortunately, it’s not a standard feature and they aren’t included with the $41,669 Pro model. According to Edmunds, however, we’re thankful it’s only one step up to the XLT version before buyers can warm their bottoms.

One caveat, however, is that heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come in the 312A High optional package. This package isn’t available for Pro trims but enters the XLT model. Unfortunately, buying the F-150 Lightning XLT doesn’t get you heated seats. At $54,669, we hoped every XTL trim would include this important feature. Unfortunately, you’ll need to shell out another $9,500 for the equipment package.

For the added price of $9,500, the 312A High optional package needs some serious justification. According to Ford‘s build and price tool, it instantly pushes the price of a Lightning XLT to $64,269. On top of the coveted heated seats, you’ll get Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0, a heated steering wheel, a power tailgate, etc. While the package is plentiful and provides tons of value, we can’t help but wish heated seats were available at a more affordable price point.

Ventilated front seats and heated rear seats are much more expensive

You’ll need the Lariat trim if you want a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning with ventilated front seats. Paying $69,169 adds ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, LED cargo bed lighting, a wireless charging pad, a 15-inch touchscreen display, etc. Unsurprisingly, it’ll cost nearly $70,000 for ventilated front seats, which is almost as shocking as the price of heated seats.

Speaking of heated seats, if you want them for rear passengers, you’ll need to spend more. The cheapest way to get them for the rear seats is with a Lariat model, but buyers still need the 511A High package. Fortunately, the package comes with tons of excellent features. For example, a twin-panel panoramic sunroof, Ford’s Blue Cruise system, rain-sensing wipers, upgraded rear under-seat storage, and more are included. In short, you’ll have to pay a pretty penny for heated rear seats, but loads of other equipment comes with them.

A 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning with heated seats is costly

In conclusion, if you want the new Ford electric pickup truck, you probably want heated seats. For front seats, you’ll need a minimum of the XLT trim with the 312A High optional package. Unfortunately, it’ll cost buyers nearly $65,000 to warm their bottoms. Ventilating those same front seats is even more costly and requires the Lariat trim level. Finally, you’ll need to add the 511A High package to the Lariat trim if your rear passengers require heated seats. That’s why it’s very expensive to purchase a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck with heated seats.
