Who doesn’t want a fast, affordable car with snappy, fun acceleration? Well, you don’t have to compromise if you choose one of the cheapest cars to hit 60 mph in under 5.0 seconds. Check out some of the best new options for 2023, like the Ford Mustang GT, Chevy Camaro SS, and Mini Cooper John Cooper Works hatchback.

What is the fastest 2023 car under 50k?

Depending on factors like source and tires, the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro SS is the fastest-accelerating performance car bargain for under $50,000.

While there are plenty of other cheap cars with blistering 0-60 mph times, they aren’t exactly “affordable.” For instance, the thrust-happy Toyota GR Supra 3.0 can hit 60 in just 3.8 seconds, but it starts at around $54,095.

How fast is the Camaro SS from 0 to 60 mph?

The 2023 Chevrolet Camaro SS can hit 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Moreover, it’s one of the few new cars that can accelerate so quickly for around $40,000. Specifically, TrueCar says the 2023 1SS starts at about $41,295, and the posher 2SS at $46,295.

It’s no wonder the Camaro is capable of that kind of speed; the cheap Chevrolet muscle car packs a naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 with a tire-roasting 455 horsepower.

How fast does a Mustang GT go 0-60?

The natural rival for the Camaro SS, the 2023 Ford Mustang GT, can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.0 seconds. Moreover, Car and Driver coaxed a 10-speed 2018 Ford Mustang GT to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Thanks to its tenured 5.0L Coyote V8 heart, the post-facelift S550-generation Mustang GT is a properly fast performance bargain. Of course, a six-speed MT82 manual transmission is available for those fans who want to shift their own steeds.

Is the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack one of the cheapest cars for hitting 60 mph in under 5.0 seconds?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack starts at around $47,440, making it one of the more expensive offerings on this list. However, the Scat Pack will dash to 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds using its tire-smoking 485-horsepower 6.4L Apache V8. As a result, the hulking Challenger and its Charger sibling are deceptively fast for their considerable weight.

What is the John Cooper Works package on a MINI Cooper?

The John Cooper Works package adds 39 horsepower to the iconic two-door hardtop hatchback, which allows the 228-horsepower MINI Cooper John Cooper Works to hit 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. Also, the MINI gets different synthetic leather interior trim, black alloy wheels, and sport-tuned suspension.

Is the Nissan Z Manual one of the cheapest cars to hit 60 mph in under 5.0 seconds?

The upcoming Nissan Z Sport and Performance boast retro-inspired styling, Nissan racing heritage, and a 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6. As a result, MotorTrend motivated a Nissan Z Performance Manual to 60 mph in around 4.9 seconds.

However, the Z Performance with a nine-speed automatic will hit 60 in just 4.0 seconds. Better yet, the $41,015 Sport trim packs the same motor and transmission options.

What is the 0 to 60 time for a 2023 Toyota Supra?

The 2023 Toyota Supra 2.0 is the less expensive of the sports car model’s offerings, and it will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.0 seconds. The 255-horsepower 2.0 starts at $45,135, making it one of the cheapest cars to hit 60 mph in 5.0 seconds or less.

While the 3.0 model with the 368-horsepower inline six-cylinder engine will do the same run in less than 4.0 seconds, it starts at a much higher price point. However, the Supra 2.0 goes without a manual option, unlike the closely comparable Nissan Z.
