Chevy Bolt EUV is more affordable in 2023 with a major price drop
The 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV, the cheapest new electric SUV, is even more affordable due to Chevrolet significantly cutting its price for the new model year. It costs $5,700 less than the 2022 version ($33,500 MSRP).
While Chevrolet didn’t give an official explanation for the price drop, it could be a measure to earn back some goodwill following the fires for some models due to an issue with EV batteries. While only a small percentage of the models were affected, it was serious enough to result in a recall. The issue appears to be resolved, but it likely turned off many potential buyers. The price drop might be a way to bring the customers back.
Also, Chevrolet will discontinue the Bolt EUV later in 2023. With the price drop and discontinuation, the automaker makes way for other electric vehicles.
What’s the driving range of the 2023 Bolt EUV?
The 2023 Bolt EUV provides a respectable driving range. This is crucial. In addition to the high price of most EVs, “range anxiety” — or the fear of running out of battery power, is something that holds people back from getting an electric car. On a full charge, the Bolt EUV can drive for an estimated 247 miles. Also, it comes standard with DC fast-charging capabilities, which provides up to 95 miles of range with a 30-minute charge.
Additionally, there’s an onboard 11.5 kW charging module. Plus, the Regen on Demand system captures kinetic energy when the affordable electric SUV slows down. The captured energy is then stored in the EV battery for future use.
