Last year, the 2022 Renegade was the cheapest new Jeep model ($24,695 MSRP). However, the $24,695 starting price is for the Sport trim, which was discontinued for the 2023 model year. Now, the base-level trim for the 2023 Renegade is the Latitude. However, the 2023 Compass retains the Sport trim, which is the same price as the 2023 Renegade Latitude. 

What’s new for the 2023 Renegade?

Along with the discontinuation of the Sport trim, the 2023 Jeep Renegade subcompact SUV nixed the option for a front-wheel drive layout. Now all Renegade models come standard with four-wheel drive for enhanced traction during off-road excursions and in adverse weather conditions. 

Also, there are various feature upgrades across the trim lineup for the affordable small SUV, such as newly standard adaptive cruise control for the Limited trim and revisions to the equipment groups and packages: Premium Group, High Altitude Package, Limited Elite Group, Trailhawk Elite Group, and Premium Lighting Group. Additionally, the 2023 Renegade has one new exterior paint color option: Detonator Yellow.

What’s new for the 2023 Compass?

For the new model year, the budget-friendly 2023 Jeep Compass subcompact SUV offers a new engine: a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it generates 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. Also, like the Renegade, the Compass now comes standard with all-wheel drive for all models. 

Furthermore, the small SUV has new safety and security features. This includes standard rear seat reminder alert, drowsy driver detection, and a new security alarm, as well as automatic high beam headlights for the Latitude and above trims. Additionally, the Sport and Latitude trims have newly standard 17-inch wheels.
