With a starting price of $30,695 MSRP, the 2023 Ram 1500 is the cheapest new Ram model available in the United States. The next most affordable new Ram vehicles are the 2022 Ram ProMaster City van ($32,580 MSRP) and the 2023 Ram 1500 ($37,410 MSRP).

Here are the currently available Ram models, in order from cheapest to most expensive:

  1. 2023 Ram 1500 Classic: $30,695 MSRP
  2. 2022 Ram ProMaster City: $32,580 MSRP (ProMaster City will soon be discontinued.)
  3. 2023 Ram 1500: $37,410 MSRP
  4. 2023 Ram ProMaster: $41,190 MSRP
  5. 2023 Ram 2500: $44,645 MSRP
  6. 2023 Ram 3500: $46,780 MSRP 
  7. 2023 Ram 1500 Chassis Cab: $54,665 MSRP
  8. 2023 Ram 1500 TRX: $84,355 MSRP

Ram is most well known for its lineup of full-size pickup trucks, so some readers might be surprised to learn that the American automaker also offers vans. Along with the ProMaster City, this includes the larger ProMaster van. However, the ProMaster City will soon be discontinued. The 2022 ProMaster City is still available, but there won’t be a 2023 model year version.

Along with being the cheapest new Ram model, the 2023 Ram 1500 Classic is the most affordable new full-size pickup truck in the U.S. It’s a full-size truck bargain. The next cheapest new full-size pickup trucks are the 2023 Ford F-150 ($34,585 MSRP) and the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ($36,300 MSRP).

Last year, Chevrolet and GMC offered more affordable limited-availability versions of their popular full-size pickup trucks with the Chevy Silverado 1500 LTD and the GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. However, neither model is listed for sale anymore on the website of the automakers — and it’s unknown if they will bring them back in 2023.

Ram 1500 Classic offers excellent value with its great features

The 2023 Ram 1500 Classic is the previous-generation version of the standard Ram 1500 model. It also has fewer premium amenities and not as high a level of luxury. However, the Ram 1500 Classic is still a high-quality truck — and offers excellent value with its wide array of standard and available features. 

Engine options for the affordable truck include a 395-horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and a 305-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. When equipped with the V8 engine, it can tow up to 10,620 pounds. Notable features include the Uconnect information system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a rearview camera, trailer sway control, forward collision warning, and hill start assist.
