Cheapest New Subaru SUV Has Outstanding Redesign for 2024
Subaru has a solid lineup of SUVs — which are noteworthy for their standard all-wheel drive systems. Another appealing element is affordability — especially for the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek subcompact crossover SUV. It’s the cheapest new Subaru SUV — and has an outstanding redesign for the 2024 model year.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek is the cheapest new Subaru SUV
With a starting price of $24,995 MSRP, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is the cheapest new Subaru SUV. The next most affordable one is the 2023 Forester compact crossover SUV.
Here are the new Subaru SUVs — in order of cheapest to most expensive:
- 2024 Subaru Crosstrek: $24,995 MSRP
- 2023 Subaru Forester: $26,395 MSRP
- 2023 Subaru Outback: $28,395 MSRP
- 2023 Subaru Ascent: $33,895 MSRP
- 2023 Subaru Solterra: $44,995 MSRP
Despite all of the improvements, the Crosstrek continues to be the most affordable new Subaru SUV. The redesigned 2024 model is expected to be available at Subaru dealerships in Spring 2023.
2024 Crosstrek greatly impresses with its redesign
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek enters its third generation with an excellent redesign. For the exterior, new design elements include a frameless hexagonal grille, a more sculpted body, compact headlights, and black rocker panels and wheel arch cladding. Plus, the affordable SUV is more aerodynamic with new air outlets, which helps to improve ride stability and performance.
The stylish new design continues into the cabin, which is more modern and refined compared to the outgoing model. Also, the new front seats provide greater support, resulting in less fatigue and a more comfortable ride. Plus, with sound insulation materials and a new body structure, the cabin is quieter.
Other improvements in the next-generation Subaru Crosstrek
The next-generation 2024 Crosstrek has some other improvements. This includes better performance. Along with the more aerodynamic design, the improved performance is due to the new body structure. Its chassis is 10% stiffer, resulting in a more dynamic driving experience, as well as a smoother ride.
Also, the redesigned Crosstrek comes equipped with a variant of the WRX sports car’s dual-pinion electronic power steering system, which provides greater responsiveness and a more natural feel for the road. The powertrain lineup remains the same, though, with a 152-hp 2.0-liter flat four-cylinder and a 182-hp 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder. Also, while not yet announced, the 148-hp plug-in hybrid variant will likely carry over to 2024 too.
Furthermore, the latest iteration of the subcompact SUV offers new technology features. This includes the Subaru Starlink 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus infotainment system, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, over-the-air updates, SiriusXM, and HD Radio.
Also, the Crosstek comes standard with the latest version of the Subaru EyeSight suite of safety-enhancing driving assistance technologies. With its new software, the addition of an electronic brake booster, and a wider field of view, the new EyeSight system can function under a greater range of driving conditions. It operates more quickly, too, especially with identifying pedestrians and cyclists.
Additionally, the affordable SUV provides greater comfort with the new climate control system — with a stronger emphasis on individual seats. Also, dual-zone climate heating and cooling is now standard for all trim levels.
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is a budget-friendly choice for SUV shoppers. It’s the cheapest new Subaru SUV — and with a superb redesign, it’s much better for the 2024 model year.
