For decades, Chevrolet Corvettes have cruised, revved, and slid across the silver screen. In fact, our favorites might prompt you to queue up a few movies.

From the C1 Corvette in the recent “Barbie” film to the then-new C7 Corvette Stingray in the 2014 movie “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the ‘Vette is a born performer. Sometimes, the Corvette doesn’t make it long (looking at you, Xander Cage). Still, a movie Corvette creates quite an impact. 

What car did Felicity Shagwell drive?

Felicity Shagwell, Heather Graham’s character in the 1999 film “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,” drove a star-spangled Corvette. Not just any Corvette, mind you; Shagwell’s ‘Vette was a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray. 

Frankly, the flag-clad Corvette was a sensible mount for the American counterpart to the title character’s Union Jack-laden Jaguar E-Type. As if the V8-powered roadster wasn’t conspicuous enough, her license plate read “CIA 1.” I know, parody at its best. 

What movie has a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in it?

The Corvette Stingray has a history of stealing the spotlight. Still, the orange 1977 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray from the third-generation model (C3) from the 1997 movie “Boogie Nights” is one of the best. It’s a fitting ride for Mark Wahlberg’s Dirk Diggler and his fall from grace. 

Better yet, a C3 Stingray is still an affordable proposition for fans. Although the malaise era robbed many of the C3s of horsepower, the L82s produced over 200 horsepower, a vast improvement over the comparably anemic L46 Stingrays. 

What Corvette did Barbie have?

In the blockbuster 2023 film “Barbie,” Margot Robie brought the classic doll to life behind the wheel of a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette. Of course, this Corvette wasn’t Nassau Blue or Matador Red. No, Barbie could only drive a bright-pink C1. 

A C1 is a fitting Barbie movie car, although it’s not the only brightly colored mount the beloved character has driven over the years. Instead, Barbie has found herself behind the wheel of Porsches, Ferraris, and even a Chevrolet Bel Air.

What car does Xander Cage drive?

Vin Diesel’s Xander Cage from the “xXx” franchise chose a heavily-modified 1967 Pontiac GTO as his hero car. However, in the early stages of the 2002 film, Cage is established as a wild character by jumping a C5 Corvette Convertible off a bridge, escaping via parachute. As you might expect, the Corvette’s fate was less than stellar.

Of course, Cage’s reckless disregard for the Corvette in the stunt lands him in handcuffs. “It was only a Corvette,” he says just before an agent tranquilizes him. Still, while the stunt was spectacular, the LS-powered sports car deserved a better outcome. 

What car did Natasha drive in ‘Winter Soldier?’

In the Chevrolet Corvette C7’s first noteworthy screen appearance, Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff roars on-screen in a black-on-black Stingray. The low-slung Corvette C7 is a fitting ride for Romanoff and her noir aesthetic. Better yet, with 455 horsepower on tap, the Stingray is plenty heroic.
