The new 1,064-horsepower Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has fans and critics alike stirred. However, just because Chevy’s new halo car is on the way, doesn’t mean that the Corvette Z06 and E-Ray are any more accessible in price. In fact, the high-revving Z06 and the hybridized E-Ray both get mid-year price increases.

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and partially-electric E-Ray rise in price along with a $2,000 higher ask for the base Stingray

Yeah, yeah. I can hear the groans of disapproval already. Chevrolet raised the prices of the Corvette and its admittedly Herculean trims mid-year. As a result, would-be buyers can expect pricier ‘Vettes for 2025.

2025 ModelStarting price (including dest. fee)
Stingray $69,995
Stingray Convertible$76,995
E-Ray$108,595
E-Ray Convertible$115,995
Z06$113,795
Z06 Convertible$120,795

Unfortunately, the entire lineup rising in price by around $2,000. That puts the starting price of the Corvette Z06 and E-Ray up to about $113,795 and $108,595 after the destination fee, respectively. Expect to pay about $7,000 more for the electric hardtop convertible models.

Furthermore, while the Corvette Stingray gets a similar $2,000 price bump for 2025, it crosses a tragic benchmark. In 2024, just four years after the Stingray stunned fans with its mid-engine design, the base C8 Corvette is about $10,000 more than when it debuted.

It’s always a shame to watch the Corvette’s price rise. After all, the Plastic Fantastic has always been the workaday, accessible competition for tenured titans like the Porsche 911. However, as the prices rise, more and more Americans sadly wave goodbye to the prospect of a Corvette in their garage.

However, while it’s sad, it’s not enough to fault the ‘Vette. After all, the delightfully homicidal Corvette Z06 still starts at nearly $10,000 less than the objectively more sluggish base Porsche 911. Moreover, if you want a posh 911 to kick the Kentucky supercar back to Bowling Green, you should check out the 911 Turbo S. I mean, it’s a 992 911 Turbo S. Oh, but be sure to bring an extra $120,000 or so.
