There might be a second chance available for the Chevy Blazer. Fans weren’t exactly pleased when it returned as a daily driving SUV instead of a boxy off-roader. However, the upcoming Chevy Blazer EV could finally pay respects to the older off-roading model.

What to expect with the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV

Forget the Chevy Silverado EV for now. Two new electric vehicles may arrive first. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV and the Equinox EV are on the way. But will Chevrolet get the Blazer right this time?

Unfortunately, we’re still waiting to learn more. We haven’t even seen a photo of it yet. Perhaps this will serve as some form of redemption. The electric Chevy Blazer could return with a new boxy shape, like the classic model.

When the Blazer returned in 2019, not everyone was happy. Instead of being a confident 4×4 model to tackle the modern Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler, it was a midsize crossover. Going electric can give it more power, but will it be for daily drivers or adventurers?

How much power will the electric Blazer have?

The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV will be based on the General Motors Ultium EV architecture. It uses a scalable, skateboard-style platform with floor-mounted batteries. This is the same setup that the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Hummer EV have.

Eventually, a model of the Silverado EV will arrive with up to a 400-mile range. This would be pretty impressive for the electric Blazer. However, because the Blazer EV will be smaller than the electric Silverado, it may only have between 300 to 350 miles of range.

This is plenty of range to rival the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which has between 230 to 314 miles of range on a single charge. But the Mach-E can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds.

We hope the Chevy Blazer EV can keep up. Rumors suggest that there will be LT and RS trims available. While these letters indicate that racing trims are on the way, they don’t sound like boxy off-roaders.

Also, the Silverado EV can replenish about 100 miles of range in only 10 minutes. We hope this is true for the Blazer EV too. The Mustang Mach-E can replenish about 59 miles of range in 10 minutes.

When will we learn more about the Blazer EV?

More clues about the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV should emerge soon. It’s expected to arrive in 2023 before the Silverado EV. However, we may see the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV arrive first. The Equinox EV is expected to be similar to the Blazer EV, so it may reveal a few clues.

We have seen exterior photos of the Chevy Equinox EV, and it looks a lot better than the gas-powered version. It looks sleek, modern, and advanced with a LED light that crosses the grille.

The interior of the Equinox and Blazer EV is expected the be crafted with high-quality luxury materials. It’s safe to expect massive touchscreens too. Perhaps these vehicles will gain GM’s SuperCruise tech as well.

We will keep you updated as we learn more about Chevrolet’s electric vehicle plans. For now, the Chevy Blazer could be a crossover, or it could be a beefy off-roader. Either way, it will be incredibly powerful.
