The base Corvette price costs way less than the base Porsche 911

Both the Corvette and Porsche are worthy contenders when it comes to high-performance cars. However, the Corvette comes out ahead in some areas, top of them the price point. Even though both vehicles are top performers, the Corvette Stingray comes in at a lower price tag, making it more accessible than its rival.

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is available in four trims: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT and 70th Anniversary. The 2023 Porsche 911’s trims include the Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera T, Carrera 5, Targa 4, Carrera 4S, Carrera GTS, Targa 4S, Carrera 4 GTS, Targa GTS, GTS America Edition and Dakar.

The base Corvette Stingray costs about $50,000 less ($43,050) than the 911. The base trim of the Stingray has a starting MSRP of $64,500, while the 911 starts at a whopping $107,550 and keeps getting costlier as you go up. The 911’s top trim costs $223,450, while the Stingray’s special edition 70th Anniversary model doesn’t even cross the $100,000 threshold, starting at $83,840.

The 911 took the top spot in the J.D. Power APEAL study

The J.D. Power APEAL Study is an annual study conducted by the organization to assess new car owners’ emotional attachment and excitement for their cars based on 37 attributes. The survey considers different factors, including the infotainment system, safety, powertrain, driving comfort, and more.

The study helps automakers understand the areas their vehicles are failing or succeeding in and offers valuable insights to help them make the necessary changes for a competitive edge. It also allows consumers and potential vehicle owners to learn more about their prospective vehicle before making a decision.

In the 2023 APEAL Study, Porsche was among the highest-ranking brands, scoring 883 out of 1000, tying with Land Rover and behind Jaguar. The Porsche 911 was the highest-ranking overall model and ranked first in the premium sporty car segment. However, the Corvette Stingray wasn’t far behind, taking the second spot in the segment. No other sports car made it into the segment.

The Corvette also proves to be a much better car than the 911 in terms of reliability, with a 93 out of 100 J.D. Power reliability rating against the 911’s 85 score.

Additionally, while the 911 seats two to four passengers (depending on the configuration) and the Corvette seats two, the latter offers an advantage with its spacious front seats. You may not be expecting much cargo space when buying any of these vehicles, but it is worth noting that the Corvette offers a combined 12.6 cubic feet of trunk space, while the 911 provides a front trunk space of 4.6 cubic feet.

Finally, the Corvette offers more spank than the 911. With a 6.2 liter V8 engine that produces 490 hp and 465 lb-ft, the Corvette takes 2.8 seconds to reach 60 mph, beating the 911’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that makes 379 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque and takes 3.4 seconds to accelerate.
