This is one of the most wholesome internet stories I’ve ever read. A lowered Chevy truck enthusiast was bugged by his mismatched hood. And when he turned to Facebook to fix it, he found the Yin to his Yang.

It can be frustrating to search for just the right body parts for a project car. Especially if your vehicle is in a unique color. At least that’s how Üziel Valles felt. The Colorado native had been working on his lowered Silverado. He had the truck mostly how he wanted it, but the otherwise white truck had a yellow hood. He (rightfully) felt it clashed.

Valles turned to the Denver Dropped Trucks group. This wasn’t a GMT800-era Chevy and GMC truck group. This wasn’t even a Chevy/GMC specific group. So finding the perfect hood was a long shot. He actually wasn’t too picky on the color: “Anyone down to trade my yellow hd hood for a black or white one it has no dings or anything perfect condition.”

What happened next was priceless. Alan Chavez saw the post and immediately tagged John Payan. Then John Payan was notified and he must have laughed to himself. In the comments, under the picture of Valles’ white Silverado HD with its yellow hood, Payan posted a pic of his own truck. It was a yellow Silverado HD with a white hood.

Valles commented, “@John Payan trade asap lol.” And how can you turn down an offer like that? Of course the two met and swapped hoods. Naturally, they had to take a picture of the two trucks, now complete in their original colors, and post that to the group. The lowered truck fans loved the update. Not only that, Valles and Payan remain active members of the group, chatting often.

“Well I was just swapping my front end and I found some parts white but last part to find was a HD hood and I found one but it was yellow and there’s a page here in our state where there’s a lot of parts for sale and trade so I was just hoping I found the owner of a white HD hood that would wanna trade and well that happen lol”

Sometimes it’s easy to get down on the internet, and the in-fighting it seems to create. For me, at least, I can forget the internet is just the biggest network of people in history. And people are happy to help one another out. Just like these Silverado soulmates driving their lowered trucks in Denver.
