While most of the attention is on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, we can’t let the upcoming Chevy Equinox EV slip by. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV is busting through the gate with an affordable price to undercut rivals like the Ford Mustang Mach-E. 

How much does the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV cost?

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will start around $30,000, and it will go on sale in the fall of 2023. For comparison’s sake, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E starts at $43,895, and the Volkswagen ID.4 begins at about $39,995. 

So, it will be outstanding if the Equinox EV has the stats to compete with these electric SUVs while undercutting their prices by $10,000. We do know that LT and RS trims are on the way, so it should be pretty fast. 

What to expect with the Chevy Equinox EV? 

We haven’t learned much about the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV yet. Chevrolet is only teasing fans with images so far. However, we like what we see. The electric Chevy Equinox provides a fresh and modern look, while the current gas-powered model gives off minivan vibes. 

On that note, we aren’t dissing minivans. They are fuel-efficient, spacious, and capable. However, they don’t turn heads like sleek SUVs with thin strips of LED lights that span the entire grille. 

The Chevy Equinox EV will ride on the General Motors Ultium platform. Battery packs in the Ultium family range from 50 kWh to 200 kWh and help vehicles provide between 235 hp and 1,000 hp. 

To compete against the Mustang Mach-E, the Equinox EV will need at least a 300-mile range. This should be possible because the Chevy Silverado EV arrives with an estimated range of up to 400 miles. 

We’re excited about the Silverado EV touting the ability to replenish about 100 miles in only 10 minutes. This charging speed would give the Equinox EV an advantage over the Mustang Mach-E, which can replenish about 59 miles in 10 minutes. 

We don’t know how much horsepower the Equinox EV will have yet, but more details should come out soon. The Mach-E offers between 266 to 459 hp, and the fastest model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.8 seconds. Perhaps the Equinox EV RS model will match its speed. 

Does the Equinox EV have a good interior?

Based on what we’ve seen from teaser images so far, the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV has an outstanding interior. New interior colors include black and red and black and silver. We can also spot high-quality materials such as carbon-fiber trim. 

It looks like a massive screen extends from behind the steering wheel to the center console. It could be a dual-screen that displays the infotainment system and a digital gauge cluster. It’s possible that a wireless phone charging pad is included too. 

It’s safe to expect the Equinox EV to come with standard all-wheel drive. Also, we aren’t sure if the electric version of this midsize SUV will have a third row or not. But the Equinox EV is coming out in 2023, so we should learn more soon.
