With the Silverado EV, this “range anxiety” is alleviated. It boasts an estimated driving range of up to 400 miles. This high driving range is a big advantage for the Silverado EV over its electric truck competitors. In comparison, the estimated driving range is up to 300 miles for the F-150 Lightning, 314 miles for the Rivian R1T, and 329 miles for the Hummer EV Pickup.

The retail models have a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. Also, the fleets version can tow up to 20,000 pounds. 

Relatively affordable price of the 2024 Silverado EV

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV has a relatively affordable price, which gives it an additional advantage at becoming the best electric pickup truck. The starting price of the 2024 Silverado EV is $39,900, which is similar to the F-150 Lightning ($39,974). However, the Silverado EV costs significantly less than the Rivian R1T ($67,500) and Hummer EV Pickup ($79,995).

Later release date could be an advantage for the Chevy Silverado EV

The release date of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will be in 2023, which is long after the release dates of the Rivian R1T, F-150 Lightning, and GMC Hummer EV Pickup. The technologies in EV trucks are new, and like any new technologies, they could be susceptible to problems. With its later release date, Chevrolet can learn from any missteps from other EV trucks, and then make adjustments to the Silverado EV.

Will the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV be the best electric pickup truck? Right now, it’s an open field, and the competition will be fierce. However, with advantages such as driving range, classic pickup truck styling, impressive performance specs, a relatively affordable price, and the ability to learn from competitor missteps, the Silverado EV has a good shot at rising to the top.
