The Tesla Cybertruck is likely the most controversially styled vehicle on the market. Rather than giving the Cybertruck sweeping, slippery lines like the Model S, the electric vehicle (EV) titan created a low-res, boxy pickup truck interpretation of a DeLorean DMC-12. However, in typical auto industry fashion, a Chinese company took the aesthetic of an American EV and ran with it. Enter the XPENG AEROHT Land Aircraft Carrier, a concept for a Cybertruck-looking six-wheeled truck capable of launching a flying car. You can’t make this stuff up. Or maybe you can.

The XPENG AEROHT Land Aircraft Carrier is part Tesla Cybertruck, part Ghost in the Shell, all wild

The concept art for the XPENG AEROHT Land Aircraft Carrier is nothing short of wildness. Sure, onlookers will likely notice the styling similarities to the current production Tesla Cybertruck. The XPENG EV takes the Cybertruck’s horizontal lightbar, stainless steel panel aesthetic, and eave-like roofline.

However, when the Tesla Cybertruck says, “Yeah, that’ll do,” the XPENG AEROHT Land Aircraft Carrier goes multiple steps further. For starters, the Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive and Cyberbeast stop at a mere four wheels. The XPENG, on the other hand, is a six-wheeled monster.

Furthermore, the Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive has an estimated range of around 318 miles on a single charge. However, XPENG asserts its massive EV will cover around 620 miles without stopping. How? Well, the XPENG EV truck is an EREV, or an “extended range electric vehicle.” It uses a combination of an 800-volt electric drive system and an internal combustion engine (ICE) range extender.

However, the craziest attribute of the Land Aircraft Carrier is in its name. It’s not a “Land Aircraft Carrier” due to its massive, 217-inch footprint. No, it’s a Land Aircraft Carrier because the rig can reportedly carry and launch an aircraft module. It looks like an enormous drone, but it will carry an occupant using its all-electric platform. The brand says the air module will also be capable of autonomous operation.
