Chrysler is discontinuing its long-running 300 sedans, but not without a proper send-off. Enter the 2023 Chrysler 300C, a naturally aspirated muscle sedan with a 6.4L V8 and horsepower to spare. However, the marque is only producing 2,000 of the cars, and you’ll have difficulty getting your hands on one. There is hope, though; a Chrysler 300C alternative like one of these can be yours for under $50,000, like a used Chrysler 300 SRT8.

How fast is a Charger R/T Scat Pack?

The Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack is a fast sedan and a solid alternative to the swan song Chrysler 300C. Car and Driver managed to get the 2020 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds on its way to a 12.3-second standing quarter mile. That’s no easy feat, but it makes more sense if you look at the Scat Pack’s engine. The R/T Scat Pack shares the monstrous 6.4L Apache V8 as previous Scat Packs and SRT 392s, producing a tire-roasting 485 horsepower.

Better yet, the latest Dodge Charger R/T Scat Packs start at around $50,340 and used models are well below the $50,000 mark. However, the latest models are the best new alternative for the 2023 Chrysler 300C.

Is the Dodge Charger SRT 392 a Chrysler 300C alternative?

The Dodge Charger SRT 392 shares much of the same characteristics as the ongoing Charger Scat Pack, which means it’s also a solid alternative to the new Chrysler 300C. It also packs the loud and proud 6.4L (392-cubic inch) engine producing 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. However, the latest SRT 392s share the venerable Hellcat’s straight-through exhaust system, a more upscale interior, and menacing SRT badges throughout. Finally, broken-hearted 2023 300C fans can rejoice that Kelley Blue Book (KBB) says you can snag a 2017 SRT 392 for $38,741 with average mileage.

Does Chrysler still make a 300 SRT8?

Unfortunately, Chrysler discontinued the 300 SRT8 after the 2014 model year. However, savvy shoppers can find a preowned Chrysler 300 SRT8 and its 6.4L V8 for used car prices. For instance, KBB says you can expect a fair purchase price of $34,695 for a 2014 300 SRT8 with around 50,000 miles.

Is the Dodge Charger SRT8 a solid Chrysler 300C alternative?

Like the Chrysler 300 SRT8, the Dodge Charger SRT8 packs a formidable 6.4L V8 engine and a lot of attitude. Also, like the 300 SRT8, the Charger gave way to newer models, namely the ongoing Charger R/T Scat Pack. Both 6.4L-equipped SRT8s produced 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Finally, potential owners should expect to spend around $30,832 for a used 2014 Dodge Charger SRT8 with 50,000 miles.

Is the Chevy SS a V8?

The Chevrolet SS is a subtle super sedan with a 415-horsepower 6.2L LS3 V8 and a great Chrysler 300C alternative. Better yet, the sleeper sedan skirts the line between investment and performance bargain. It holds value better than a comparable Dodge Charger SRT8, but potential owners will still be delighted with the power-for-money. According to KBB, the Chevrolet sleeper has a fair price of around $45,440 with 50,000 miles.
