Some SUVs have plenty of room in the cabin, but that doesn’t equate to headspace. These luxury SUVs for tall drivers from BMW, Cadillac, and Mercedes-Benz have ample headroom and legroom. On top of that, the following sport utility vehicles can be further customized from the factory. As always, skip the sunroof or moonroof if you value space in the front seats. This usually eats up some valuable real estate.

What are the best luxury SUVs for tall drivers?

There are plenty of luxury SUVs for tall drivers on this recent U.S. News list, including the 2023 Cadillac Escalade. Cadillac SUVs are known for being spacious and using high-quality materials, and the newest Escalade is no exception. With 42.3 inches of front headroom and 44.5 inches of front legroom, it also has space for your tallest passengers.

Some standard equipment on the 2023 Escalade includes power-adjustable front seats and heated first and second-row seats. That second row also folds and slides with the touch of a button, making the third row easy to access.

In addition to those features, the Cadillac earned a four-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It received high marks on the front, side, and rollover crashworthiness tests.

You can’t have luxury SUVs for tall drivers without the G-Wagon

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class has a reputation for being one of the best luxury SUVs on the market right now. It is big, square, and customizable from the factory. While most drivers won’t take the G-Wagon off-road, this SUV is actually quite capable in the dirt and sand. On the road, the G-Class is comfortable and has good manners for daily driving.

Leather seats that come heated and power-adjustable are standard, but there are many ways to upgrade the SUV inside and out. All five passengers will have plenty of space, and the base engine gets 416 hp to power it around town. Front headroom is 41.9 inches, and legroom came in at 38.7 inches.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety did not give this luxury SUV a safety rating, nor did the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. That isn’t too uncommon for high-end SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
