Comparison Specs EV Pickups: Silverado RST, Rivian, Cybertruck, F-150 Lightning, Hummer
With the unveiling of Chevy’s all-electric Silverado RST pickup, how does it compare with the other EV pickup trucks in this segment? Each one of our subjects; the Rivian, Cybertruck, F-150 Lightning, Silverado RST, and Hummer, come from a different backdrop. But based on what has been published, we’ll try to give a by-the-books comparison.
The differences under development couldn’t be more divergent. For the RST and Hummer, they’re from one of the largest manufacturers in the world and are unique from their internal combustion siblings. The Ford F-150 Lightning is a variation of its existing F-150.
But the Cybertruck EV pickups don’t exist yet
Rivian’s EV entry is from a startup, almost from thin air. It doesn’t have the resources, background, or legacy of either GM or Ford. Then there’s the Cybertruck.
It doesn’t exist. Oh, it will be produced someday. But the continual canceling of expected production, and the published sale price which seems impossible to achieve, makes it a mostly blue-sky deal as of now. Recently, Tesla removed expected availability dates from its website. That means the likelihood of production this year is not gonna happen. Next year? Who knows.
With that said, here’s our comparison based on published specifications, even though some are not especially realistic.
