The Off-Roading Oriented Nissan Titan Pro 4X

The Pro 4X is a Nissan Titan model that’s received a few different off-roading upgrades to gain the ability to play in the dirt with other large trucks. With the base model or King Cab option only starting around $47k, it’s worth taking a look at this truck to compare it against the Ford Raptor and other off-roading behemoths.

Nissan Power 

The Nissan Titan Pro 4X is equipped with a direct-injected V8 5.6-L engine that produces 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. So, there is no shortage of power for both gunning it in on the pavement and crawling over rocks. 

Despite all this power and the Titan’s size, it still manages to feel light on the gas pedal. Its automatic 9-speed transmission feels smooth and convenient for a comfortable ride. 

But, like other monster trucks, this one is hangry. While going the speed limit, this truck average 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. 

Nissan Off-Roading Accessories 

This Nissan comes with a big shiny skid plate on the front to help protect the undercarriage. It also has an 8.9” ground clearance and sits on 18” by 8” aluminum-alloy wheels with all-terrain off-roading tires. 

The Titan’s build gives it a 22.8-degree approach angle and a 26.8-degree departure angle. This remains competitive against the Raptor even though the Raptor has a much higher 30.2-degree approach angle. 

The tires block the sight of the Nissan’s Bilstein off-road shock absorbers and electronic locking rear differential. 

For your hauling needs, the Pro X4 has an integrated trailer brake control along with its standard front and rear disc brakes. 

The Active Brake Limited Slip system will automatically brake the slipping wheel(s) and send power to the wheels with the best traction to keep you on track. 

The Nissan Titan Pro X4 also has a controlled descent system to help you crawl down rocks and steep inclines in a controlled manner. 

Nissan Luxuries 

The Nissan Titan has a comfortable interior with a metallic panel trim and bright stitching to provide pops of color for an upscale cockpit feel. The large leather seats are climate controlled, so you’ll never be too hot or cold. 

The 9” touch screen infotainment center provides an around view of the truck so you can see exactly where your tires will land. 

Enjoy the Titan’s vast storage space, including a sizeable boxy center console with an upright cellphone holder for charging. Use the Nissan Connect and Apple Car Play to connect your favorite devices. 

You can also connect with nature with the dual-panel sunroof to let more light in, and the automatic power back window is excellent for fresh air. 

While this truck has a little less power than the Raptor, it has more capabilities than you’ll probably need. It also keeps up with the Raptor with enhanced off-roading tech and luxurious features. With the extra savings, the Nissan provides, it may be the better option for working and off-roading.
