Crashed and Stolen Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Turns Out to Be a Supercar Bargain
We’ve all got a dream car we would love to own regardless of how much it costs. In Ed Bolian’s case, his dream car was a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. However, after owning one of the nicest examples around, Bolian managed to flip it and get another Lamborghini for free.
In a recent YouTube video, Bolian told the complete story of how he started with one Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and accidentally ended up owning three in a short period of time, one of which was completely free.
This story begins with a pristine Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
This Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 story begins back in 2014 when Bolian reportedly purchased his dream car. What makes this particular model difficult to find is the fact that there were about 20 of them or so in the U.S with a manual transmission. Thanks to the excellent quality of this exact LP640, Bolian reportedly felt guilty putting miles on it.
In 2015, Bolian reportedly left his job as a car salesman to explore new career opportunities. As a result, having a massive car payment for a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 without steady income created a tough situation. Thanks to this model’s rarity, Bolian quickly noticed that values began to shoot up for models equipped with a manual transmission.
One day, Bolian reportedly got a call from another Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 owner. However, this other LP640 was probably the roughest example available, thanks to a very sketchy history. Bolian reportedly found the CarFax information later on. Interestingly, the previous owner had reported it stolen after someone had crashed it.
Bolian managed to get this crashed and stolen example for free
Since Bolian had spent months paying his Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, he decided to purchase the sketchy example. As a result, Bolian sold his original LP640 for $350,000 after paying $215,000 for it originally. With the money in hand, Bolian flew out to Las Vegas to look at the sketchy example.
The previous owner reportedly wanted $140,000 for the car. Thankfully, Bolian reports that he managed to negotiate the price of the car down to $120,000. Since the sale price was $15,000 less than the $135,000 profit Bolian had just made, the second Lamborghini cost him nothing.
Over the next few months, Bolian reportedly spent over $30,000 in repairs. Most of the damage existed on the driver’s side since that’s where the previous owner had crashed it. Additionally, Bolian later found out that the previous owner reported the LP640 stolen as part of an insurance fraud scheme.
As if Bolian’s luck couldn’t get any better, someone made him a sizable offer to purchase this sketchy example. According to Bolian, this gave him an additional profit of around $100,000.
Then came an offer Bolian simply couldn’t refuse
Given Bolian’s love for the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, he reportedly decided to purchase another one as a replacement. After all of these profitable transactions, Bolian reportedly ended up buying another manual LP640 with higher mileage.
Since this third car needed extensive paintwork, Bolian reportedly decided to do a complete color swap to his favorite share of Verde Draco. Since then, Bolian managed to start a successful business and now has his dream car in his desired specification paid almost entirely by his profits.
