Dennis Rodman Went Airborne When He Flipped His Land Rover Three Times
Dennis Rodman’s life is full of some of the most colorful stories of any professional athlete. From handing out $100 bills to homeless people in downtown Detroit while playing for the Pistons, to dating Madonna and Carmen Electra, to starring in an action movie with Jean Claude Van Damme and Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump, to hanging out with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, Rodman’s done it all. And of course he’s walked away from a brutal SUV crash.
Dennis Rodman’s agent is Darren Prince. Prince does have other clients, which is incredible considering that keeping up with Rodman is a full time job. One day, after he’d retired from playing for the Chicago Bulls, Prince booked Rodman a gig as a guest DJ in Saint Tropez.
Rodman flew off to do the gig, and the agent must have had his fingers crossed that the star would come right home instead of flying to someplace like North Korea again afterward. So when Prince got the call that the gig had gone well and Rodman was back home in Florida, he breathed a sigh of relief. Then he got another call, Rodman had been in a horrible car crash.
Here’s how it went down. Rodman’s Land Rover SUV blew a tire on Interstate 95 near Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Some sources say that the vehicle didn’t just crash, it turned sideways in the road and then flipped over, rolling again and again, before it came to a stop.
Prince was glued to the news until his phone rung. It was Rodman. “‘I’m still living brother. They can’t get rid of me.'”
Rodman wasn’t the one at the wheel. His driver suffered from a bad enough gash to his forehead that authorities took him to the hospital to monitor him. But he was in stable condition. Both Rodman, and the unnamed woman riding with him, walked away unharmed. Prince told reporters, “Thank God he’s OK…He walked out with a little scratch on his finger.”
