Many car companies out of Germany use in-house and external tuning companies. BMW uses M and Dinan, while Mercedes-Benz uses AMG and Porsche has RUF. As many Audis are a car tuner’s best friend, it only makes sense that a company would try and tackle a beast like the 2021 Audi RS7. The numbers are out, and they are staggering. The RS7, with the help of Mansory, has vaulted into a new spectrum, perhaps elevating Audi into supercar territory.

What is Mansory?

Kourosh Mansory started his company in 1989. Originally it obliged a small number of high-end brands, including Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, and Ferrari. Now Mansory Corporation handles tuning for almost every brand, and not just those from Germany. Ford and Tesla got in on the performance as well. Its blanket of expertise covers more than just engine performance. Mansory also makes wide-body kits, aerodynamic pieces, exhaust systems, and its own vehicles. 

What was wrong with the 2021 Audi RS7?

Mansory recently added the 2021 Audi RS7 to its armory. The RS7 isn’t exactly a couch potato that rolled off of the assembly line. From the factory, it has 591 horsepower from its turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and hits 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Adaptive air suspension and a progressive steering system kept the ride smooth as butter, and the interior uses plush leather upholstery and stoic, quality material. Not bad for $118,000. How, then, can Mansory make this luxury-printing machine any better?

Mansory gave the Audi RS7 more enormous fangs

The answer is simple, and it’s more turbo. Mansory perched two turbochargers that presumably ate the factory parts and mounted a new exhaust system that blares 780 horsepower like a foghorn. It didn’t stop there. The car got forged rims and enormous tires that put a V8 F1 car to shame. 

Mansory relined the leather with proprietary livestock and added carbon fiber bits to the exterior. Mansory’s edition of the RS7 makes it look like the factory RS7’s older brother that never broke out of the sandbox. It’s here to bully, and with a 0-60 time of just 3 seconds, what can stop it?

Is the Mansory Audi RS7 a supercar?

With full disclosure, Mansory’s Audi RS7 is not faster than a Lamborghini, but only by a couple of tenths. From the factory, the RS7 lags behind the 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder by a full second, so it’s a massive improvement. It’s also not as fast as a Ferrari or a McLaren, but it scorches almost everything Mercedes-Benz has to offer and is on par with the E63 AMG. 

Mansory’s RS7, unfortunately, isn’t quite a supercar, but it’s close. It skirts past the AMG but falls a few tenths short of Ferrari and Lamborghini, so it’s stuck in this purgatory for cars that aren’t quite fast enough to earn a new class for themselves. Whether or not it’s a supercar, Mansory’s RS7 is beautiful outside and inside.
