The 2021 Ford F-150 is loaded with convenient features
The folks at PickupTrucks were able to get up close with the 2021 Ford F-150 and discovered tons of features that make the F-150 the perfect option for sleeping in, providing power to sources, getting work done, and more.
To really compare the Ford F-150 to an RV, the first thing to consider is where you can sleep? While RVs have different beds that vary in size, the new Ford F-150 has seats that recline totally flat.
The Max Recline Seats turn into the perfect space for getting some shut-eye. The bottom cushion rises to meet the backrest with the push of a button. Plus, the passenger seat folds flat too, so a friend can also nap.
The Ford F-150 has plenty of power
The second thing for RVers to consider is power. Can they charge devices or use appliances in the wild? With the 2021 Ford F-150, the answer is yes because it has an onboard generator. The Pro Power Onboard system turns the truck engine into a generator that provides power to an inverter.
Then the inverter transforms the power into energy to use your laptop, an electric griddle, camper trailers, and even your entire home if needed. The optional 7.2 kW version offers four 120-volt 20 amp outlets and a one-twist lock L6-20 240-volt 30-amp outlet that can provide up to 7,200 watts of electricity.
Along with having enough power to charge items like an electric bike, the system can run all night. The system will run for 85 hours on a full tank of gas at a maximum of 2,400 watts. Plus, if the system detects if it is powering something, it won’t idle and turn off.
Also, you can power the generator with your phone. The 2021 Ford F-150 has a wi-fi hotspot with a 30-foot range, and the FordPass app allows you to see what each circuit is powering. If you wake up feeling warm in the middle of the night, you can use the app to turn on the AC, and more.
There is plenty of storage and surface space
The 2021 Ford F-150 also allows you to work in peace. The multi-functional tailgate has a built-in ruler and clamps for you to measure and cut wood. It also has a flat surface for writing, space to hold tools, a tablet holder, and more.
Inside of the truck, you’ll find an abundance of space, including in the backseat for storage. Plus, the center console turns into another work surface. It’s perfect for your laptop and other items that need a flat surface.
You can work, eat, and sleep inside of the 2021 Ford F-150. It’s also strong enough to pull and power a camper. So, before buying an RV, check out this truck and see if it can handle all of your camping needs.
