What started as fan-created concept drawings and renderings has quickly taken the spotlight for Dodge lovers and Hellcat fanatics everywhere. The idea is simple, the renderings are clear: the people want a Dodge Hellcat wagon.

Since the Dodge Magnum has ceased production, many Dodge enthusiasts have been waiting for a release of another wagon. Some owners have even gone as far as custom retrofitting Magnum wagon panels onto the Dodge Charger.

There is no question as to whether or not the Dodge Charger Hellcat Wagon has quickly become the topic of conversation, but with the market for wagons so small in the United States, it’s hard to imagine that Dodge will see the concept come to life – but that won’t stop us from dreaming.

We may not have much to go on…

Because the car is just a concept, it’s up to our imagination and wildest dreams as to the power it could produce, but even if Dodge just slapped a wagon backend onto their already-in-production 2020 Charger Hellcat, it would still be putting down an impressive amount of power. It is a Hellcat after all.

While adding weight to an already 4,429lb Charger would likely slow it down, we can still use it to get a general idea of what kind of power the wagon version could have. The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat presents an astonishing 717 – 797hp stock, with a 0 – 60mph time of a mere 3.6 seconds. Could you imagine a Hellcat wagon pushing 800hp? The idea is equal parts interesting and terrifying.

We can dream it

After all, we already know there’s going to be a Hellcat-powered Ram pickup truck in the form of the production TRX. And it barely took any time (at least on an automaker’s timeline) for Dodge to begin teasing a Durango Hellcat after finally introducing the Durango SRT. With the work to build a wagon on the Charger/Challenger platform already done, it wouldn’t be that hard for Dodge to put a refreshed Magnum back into production.

On the other hand, wagons are extremely unpopular in the U.S., and Dodge needs more than a few car enthusiasts on the internet to justify adding a low-volume model to its lineup.

Whether Dodge would be more inclined to drop a Hellcat motor into a restyled Dodge Magnum or toss a wagon onto their already spectacular Charger Hellcat, we may never know, but one thing is for sure: that we can at least keep the dream alive. Who knows, maybe one day Dodge will feel inclined to fill the hole left behind by the Magnum…and until they do, it’s never a 100% guarantee that the Hellcat wagon isn’t on the horizon.
