Dodge Last Call Lineup: The Last Chargers Are Here
Dodge is sending its hellacious muscle car and sedan to the boneyard in favor of more fuel-efficient options. However, before the marque kills the Charger and Challenger, it will send them off with a few “Last Call” models. Three of those swan song cars in the Dodge Last Call lineup will be Chargers, each crazier than the last. Here are the last Chargers with attitude-imbued V8s and their special editions, like the fire-breathing Charger King Daytona.
What is the Dodge Last Call?
Dodge’s Last Call lineup is a series of seven limited-edition swan song cars split between the soon-to-be discontinued Charger and Challenger models. First, Dodge unveiled a Challenger Shakedown and Charger Super Bee, each with a different aesthetic. Then, the marque revealed a duo of “Swinger” cars on both the Charger and Challenger platforms, a nod to the classic namesake.
Finally, Mopar fans got a glimpse of Hellcat-packing monsters, the Challenger Black Ghost and Charger King Daytona. Moreover, the seventh and final Last Call model will be a record-smashing Challenger with the potential to upstage the venerable Demon.
What is a Super Bee Charger?
The first Dodge Charger Last Call model in the lineup is the Super Bee. The drag strip-ready four-door Mopar is limited to 1,000 copies and packs many of the same performance components as the Challenger 1320 package. Moreover, the Super Bee boasts the popular 485-horsepower naturally aspirated 6.4L V8 that delights R/T Scat Pack fans. While many enthusiasts will have their eyes set on the Plum Crazy Purple livery with Super Bee graphics, the Last Call Charger model will also be available in B5 Blue.
What is a Dodge Swinger?
The Dodge Charger Swinger is the second Charger in the Dodge Last Call lineup. However, instead of being an individual Charger package, the Swinger is available for both the Charger and Challenger Widebodies. Both vehicles get matching old-school graphics and eye-catching F8 Green liveries. Like the Shakedown, the Challenger packs a “Shaker” hood with contrast paint.
Still, if the F8 isn’t doing it for you, the Swingers are available with White Knuckle paintwork. Moreover, the Swinger gets its historic moniker from the 1969 Dodge Dart model. The limited edition is a fitting nod to the Mopars of the past before the marque puts the Charger and Challenger out to pasture.
How much is a 2023 King Daytona?
Just when Mopar fans thought a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody was wild enough, the automaker decided to introduce the very rare King Daytona in its Last Call lineup. The brightly-liveried Go Mango Widebody Charger is limited to just 300 units and Car and Driver thinks it will outshine the $90,000 price tag on the Hellcat Redeye. Armed with an 807-horsepower supercharged 6.2L V8, the King Daytona is one of the most powerful Chargers the marque has ever made.
The Charger King Daytona is the premier Charger in the Dodge Last Call lineup and a fitting tribute to the lunacy of the most delightfully unreasonable sedan of modern times. Does a four-door sedan need a Widebody, hood pins, 807 horsepower, and tail-happy RWD? Of course not. However, we’re still over the moon that cars like the King Daytona exist.
