The Kia Telluride is known for being one of the most popular SUVs on the market for a few reasons. For one, the Telluride offers all of the modern luxury buyers want in an affordable package. That includes the “Driver Talk” intercom system. What else comes with this brand-new Kia SUV?

How do you use the intercom in a Kia Telluride?

The 2022 Kia Telluride has room for many passengers, depending on the configuration. Buyers can choose captain’s chairs for the second row or a regular bench seat. The captain’s chairs bring the total passenger space down to seven, but it has room for eight otherwise. With so much space, the Kia Telluride SUV does have an intercom system. It is usually hidden behind the “setup” folder until it is set up by the driver. Then, it will likely sit on the home screen for easier use.

Kia calls this system on the LX trim the Driver Talk feature. It allows the driver to communicate with those all the way in the back. With a car full of people, that is a pretty nifty feature to have. This intercom system also allows the driver to speak to the second row, should the situation arise that it is needed.

Another benefit to this system is the quiet mode. It allows the driver to mute or lower the volume to the speakers in the other rows. The system can also play one sound through the front-row speakers, should the other occupants want to listen to something else. On long road trips and situations with a full car and a lot of extra noise, Driver Talk comes in quite handy. Plus, the driver can listen to a podcast upfront while children sleep in the back.

How much room does the Kia Telluride have?

Based on the review from Consumer Reports, the 2022 Kia Telluride has plenty of room for big families. It also has almost perfect scores across the board. Consumer Reports gave the Telluride a 97 out of 100 overall. The predicted reliability score and predicted owner satisfaction both came in at an above-average five out of five.

When it came to the cargo room, Consumer Reports called the Kia Telluride’s cargo space “vast.” For those who don’t need all of that room all the time, the third-row seats fold down. In addition to that, the second-row seats fold down at the press of a button. A concealed bin in the floor holds whatever extra stuff a family might be taking on a trip.

Depending on how often you fill up the Kia SUV, driver talk can come in pretty handy. There is no need to shout to the back of the vehicle when you can speak into the intercom instead.

This Kia SUV is packed with tech, safety features, and plenty of room

When it comes to safety features, the Kia Telluride has it all. Some of the more important ones are forward-collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB), and lane-departure warning (LDW). These are all included standard on the Kia SUV. Lane-keeping assist (LKA), blind-spot warning (BSW), and rear cross-traffic warning (RCTW) are also standard.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2022 Kia Telluride scores of “good” across the board. That is the highest rating the group offers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the SUV mainly four and five-star ratings in its crash tests.

For buyers looking for a safe SUV with plenty of technology to keep the family happy, look no further. The 2022 Kia Telluride does it all and looks good doing it.
