The 2022 Nissan Frontier marked the third generation of Nissan’s mid-size truck. And now the 2023 Frontier is finally here. This new mid-size pickup has minor changes, and all trims have received a slight price increase. But overall, it is still a truck that should impressive. The 2023 Nissan Frontier comes with a standard V6 engine and offers a dedicated off-road trim. However, does the new Frontier come with wireless Apple CarPlay?

Does the 2023 Frontier offer wireless CarPlay?

If you are interested in the new Nissan Frontier truck, the PRO-X and PRO-4X models do come with wireless Apple CarPlay. It’s unclear if this feature will find its way into the lower trims. But if it did, it would certainly come as a welcome addition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still standard across the board, as is an 8.0-inch touchscreen display.

Wireless Apple CarPlay allows you to connect your device directly to your mid-size truck without having to fuss with wires. So, it’s clear why it’s such a desirable feature to most buyers. Other tech that you can get with the 2023 Frontier includes a Wi-Fi hotspot which will help you stay connected while you’re on the road. 

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier a mid-size truck?

The Frontier has long been Nissan’s mid-size truck. And for the longest time, it went without any major updates. But finally, in 2022, Nissan brought the Frontier into its third generation. The third-gen Frontier comes with a standard V6 engine that makes 310 horsepower. It can tow up to 6,720 pounds, which is not as much as rivals like the Chevy Colorado. 

According to Car and Driver, the SV trim offers the best value. It comes with a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. If you opt for the Convenience and Technology packages, you can really upgrade your mid-size truck. These will add things like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Better yet, you’ll also get heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. 

Is a new Frontier worth it?

Despite coming with a slight price increase, the 2023 Frontier still seems like a good value. It is a newer truck compared to the 2023 Toyota Tacoma, and you get the standard V6 engine. Plus, the Frontier still offers the PRO-4X trim. This off-road truck features a number of rugged components to help you take on the road less traveled. But, it is also the most expensive Frontier that you can buy. 

Ultimately, there are a variety of mid-size trucks on today’s market. In terms of the Frontier, it is just impressive to see how far it has progressed with a new generation. It no longer feels as dated, and the interior is certainly more comfortable. It might not be as capable as some of the competition, but if you don’t need that kind of ability, it should be good enough. And we can only hope that Nissan chooses to make wireless Apple CarPlay available on more trims.
