Does the Chevrolet Colorado Have a Nice Interior?
There are a ton of truck reviews out there. If you want to know anything from off-road performance to fuel efficiency, on any model, you can find it. What may sometimes be overlooked in reviews is a thorough evaluation of the truck interiors.
Sure, there are checklists of available amenities for various trim levels of interiors. But is it enough to tell you whether or not you’ll be comfortable? Today, we thought we’d take a look at all things interior for the Chevrolet Colorado. Continue reading to learn more about what’s inside this top-rated truck.
Let’s talk seating
The Chevy Colorado’s seating configuration varies by trim. Base models seat two people. Extended cab models offer room for four. Crew cabs can accommodate five passengers. Regardless of the configuration you choose, you can expect comfortable and roomy seats for drivers and passengers. The seats are slightly elevated, a perk for driver comfort.
Some other trucks in this class offer slightly more rear space, but the back seats are comfortable for adult passengers. The only real caveat we found were reviews that claimed narrow openings can be troublesome for folks getting in and out of the rear seats.
Special note to families with children: There are two LATCH car-seat connectors for the back seats of the Colorado. The crew cabs also offer an upper tether for the middle. In reviews, the LATCH system is easy to use. However, it may be hard to find when you’re still getting started.
Technology and infotainment availability
Colorado’s interior tech is substantial in terms of offerings and convenience. You can expect Bluetooth and navigation, USB ports, and six-speaker audio systems. The Infotainment 3 system comes standard in Colorado. Enjoy a 7-inch touch screen and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
Higher trim levels can bring upgrades to include an 8-inch touch screen, Bose audio, satellite radio, and wireless device charging.
The reviews we’ve discovered all boast the intuitiveness and ease-of-use for Colorado’s interior tech. Drivers can reach the screens, and the menu selections are simple to navigate. Connectivity was a breeze, too. Cars.USNews says, “the Infotainment 3 system works well.”
Cabin materials & aesthetics
Some reviewers have cited that the Colorado’s interior styling is a tad old-fashioned, comparatively with others in its class. Hard plastics throughout make the ‘feel’ less upscale.
Cargo & capacity
There are a variety of interior storage spaces for the Colorado. Enjoy a deep center-console and storage area under the crew cab’s rear seat. You might not fit as many suitcases in this truck as some of the others, but it will certainly carry plenty. Folding the back seats down, Car and Driver reviewers said they could fit 11 pieces of luggage.
So, is the Colorado interior nice?
Some of the other models in the mid-size truck space might have more luxurious features than the Chevy Colorado. If you’re going for the most space, the best tech, or the biggest speakers, you might need a different truck. But, if you’re interested in a tough truck, with plenty of comforts, room, and options, Colorado will fit your needs just fine. Based on what we’ve uncovered in reviews and online opinions, Colorado’s interior can definitely be classified as nice.
The comfort level in the driver’s seat of this truck is really a personal preference. While we think the Colorado interior is nice, you won’t know for sure how you feel about it until you sit behind the wheel. Take a test drive and see what you think. There’s a host of upscale options and amenities the Colorado can offer. It may just be the goldilocks of mid-size truck interiors overall.
