Does the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Have Android Auto?
The Chevy Colorado is one of the best work trucks in the market today, but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have any convenience or premium features. This is especially true for the Colorado ZR2, which is one of the more expensive trims for the Colorado. Here’s everything you need to know about the tech that the Colorado ZR2 has to offer.
The Colorado ZR2’s standard features
Because the Colorado ZR2 is a more premium trim than the regular Colorado, the Colorado ZR2 will come with more standard features. Chief among them include an 8-inch touchscreen display that is fully compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This is a slight upgrade over what the regular Colorado offers, which, according to U.S. News, is a 7-inch touchscreen display that’s also compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Colorado ZR2 also comes standard with a 4.2-inch driver information screen. This is again, a slight upgrade over the 3.5-inch driver information screen that’s offered on the less expensive trims of the Colorado. Other features that are upgrades over the regular Colorado include a standard HD radio, a wireless device charging system, a high-definition rearview camera, and a 4G WiFi hotspot.
That said, the Colorado ZR2 has a couple of standard features that are also standard on the regular Colorado. For example, the Colorado ZR2 comes with a standard six-speaker stereo system, and that’s the same system that’s standard on the regular Colorado. Bluetooth support and several USB ports are also standard on both versions of the Colorado.
The Colorado ZR2’s optional features
While the Colorado ZR2 is a more expensive trim of the Colorado, it does have several optional tech features too. Owners of the Colorado ZR2 can equip it with a seven-speaker Bose stereo system, a more advanced 8-inch touchscreen display that is still Android Auto compatible, and additional USB ports.
There are more minor tech upgrades that are available for the ZR2, but again, since the ZR2 is already a more expensive trim of the Colorado, those upgrades aren’t as impactful as what’s already standard. Some of those minor tech upgrades include an improved interior lighting system and changes to the looks of the tech in the truck.
The Colorado ZR2’s smart safety features
Like many other Chevy trucks and cars, the Colorado ZR2 comes standard with a lot of smart safety features that makes it a good truck for families. Notably, like the standard Colorado and many other Chevy vehicles, the Colorado ZR2 comes with Chevy’s teen driver system that makes the Colorado ZR2 a very safe truck for teens.
Furthermore, other smart safety features that the Colorado ZR2 has as standard include an electrical-theft deterrent system, a thief-entry deterrent system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and electronic traction control. While these are smart safety features that are standard on the Colorado ZR2, Chevy says that the Colorado ZR2 doesn’t have much in the way of optional safety features.
For instance, U.S. News says that the Colorado can be equipped with smart safety features such as a forward collision warning system, a lane departure warning system, and rear parking sensors. However, according to Chevy, none of those smart safety features are available as options on the Colorado ZR2.
This can be seen as a downside of owning the Colorado ZR2, but the rest of the safety features that come standard with the Colorado ZR2 makes up for its deficiency in this area. On top of that, the Colorado ZR2 is the off-roading trim of the Colorado, so all those safety features that were intended for highways and city roads may not be necessary on the Colorado ZR2.
