Does the Ford F-150 Have a Nice Interior?
The F-150 is the best selling vehicle in America, and it’s an iconic truck that many Americans can recognize. But the truck market these days has a lot of competition, and consumers want to know which truck is the best truck overall. Here’s everything you need to know about the F-150’s interior.
Pros of the F-150’s interior
Many review sites, such as Consumer Reports, praised the amount of headroom and legroom that the F-150 offers to its passengers. The exact amount of room available on the F-150 will depend on which configuration that you choose, but in general, an average-sized adult should be able to fit comfortably in the F-150 no matter the trim.
While the full-sized F-150 can seat five adults, U.S. News says that with the SuperCab and the SuperCrew options, the F-150 can seat up to six adults. In terms of the seats themselves, Ford does offer leather seats with fancy features. Some of these features include power-adjustable seats, heated seats, and massaging seats. That said, most of those fancy features are only available on the front seats.
In terms of the tech side of things, the F-150 comes standard with a lot of smart safety features. These include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian collision detection, and more. The fancier F-150 models will have a larger infotainment suite. Both Consumer Reports and U.S. News says that the F-150’s infotainment systems were easy to use and capable at their job.
Additionally, Consumer Reports mentioned that the interior of the F-150 was very quiet. Both road noise and wind noise was muted thanks to the design of the F-150’s interior.
Cons of the F-150’s interior
While the seats themselves are spacious, Consumer Reports mentioned that the basic cloth seats didn’t provide as much back support as the leather seats did. And while fancy seats are an option, they’ll, of course, cost a lot more money than just buying a standard F-150 would.
Even with a fancier trim of F-150, however, U.S. News says that the interior of the F-150 needs some work. Many reviewers complimented the looks of the interior of the F-150, but they also said that some of the plastics on the F-150, even in the expensive trims, felt cheap.
According to Consumer Reports, even the mid-range XLT trim of the F-150 is considered basic in terms of the quality of its interior. Much of the interior was hard and Consumer Reports even said that the F-150 lacked interior features that cheaper sedans and SUVs had.
On top of that, while the F-150 has a lot of standard features, smart and useful features like adaptive cruise control isn’t one of them. In order to get adaptive cruise control on a F-150, you’ll again have to pay a premium for it. This is the same story with other smart features, such as compatibility with smartphones and 4G support.
Does it have a nice interior?
It depends on what you’re looking for. U.S. News and Consumer Reports praised the simple to use features of the F-150. For many consumers, that’s exactly what they might be looking for in an F-150. Most F-150s won’t come with anything fancy or hard to use, and most F-150s will be able to do their job just fine.
And while beauty is in the eye of the beholder, most truck reviewers seem to like the interior looks of the F-150. Of course, your mileage may vary, but everyone else seems to like it. So, overall, the F-150 seems to have a decent interior at the very least.
