The Honda Accord, along with the Honda Civic, are some of the most popular sedans in the U.S. They’re popular cars for good reason, as they both come with a lot of features. Here’s a look inside the Accord and all of the features that it has to offer.

The Honda Accord’s standard features

The Accord is one of Honda’s most popular cars, and unsurprisingly, it’s pretty well equipped even in its most basic form. U.S. News says that the Accord will come standard with a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system.

This touch screen will be supported by a single USB port as well as Bluetooth compatibility. Unfortunately however, U.S. News mentions that neither Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto are standard on the Accord. 

Regardless, Accord owners will also get a four-speaker stereo system along with their infotainment system. On top of that, in terms of the Accord’s standard comfort and convenience features, Honda gives every Accord a dual-zone climate control system as well as a push-button start system. 

All of these systems will have physical controls, which U.S. News says helps make the Accord very user-friendly.  Not only is the Accord’s touch screen crisp-looking, but car reviewers, such as Autoblog, also mentioned that the Accord’s menu system was sensible and easy to use.

The Honda Accord’s optional features

While the standard Accord doesn’t have access to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, owners can upgrade their Accord’s infotainment system to get access to those features. U.S. News says that Honda offers an 8-inch touch screen that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda also offers up to three more USB ports, a satellite navigation system, and the choice between an eight-speaker or a 10-speaker stereo system. 

On top of that, the Accord can also be equipped with fun features such as a moonroof but also convenience features such as remote start capability and proximity keyless entry. Additionally, an HD radio and a satellite radio can be hooked up to the Accord’s infotainment system. Furthermore, Honda also offers a WiFi hotspot and wireless charging capability on the Accord. 

Many of the Accord’s competitors, such as the Toyota Camry, will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, so Honda owners will have to spend extra to get those features for their car. With that said, U.S. News reports that car reviewers thought that the Accord’s smartphone integration was well-done and, just like with the regular Accord, easy to use as well. 

Smart safety features

One thing that both the Accord and the Camry have in common is the fact that both cars are packed with standard smart safety features. That’s because both Toyota and Honda are well-known for taking safety seriously. As a result, the Accord has a lot of smart safety features as standard and as options. 

U.S. News says that the Accord comes standard with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, a road departure mitigation system, a traffic sign recognition system, and a collision mitigation braking system. Honda’s collision mitigation braking system combines a forward-collision warning system with automatic emergency braking into one smart system. 

In terms of optional smart safety features, Honda offers a head-up display, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear cross traffic alert system. Many of these safety features are not available or not standard in other cars, so Honda is showing customers just how seriously it takes safety. 

Because of how many smart safety features that the Accord has as standard, and because of how well it did in its crash tests, U.S. News gave the Accord a 9.9 out of 10 for safety.
