Does the Hyundai Tucson Have Apple CarPlay?
Nowadays, sport utility vehicles are getting more in-tune with our everyday lives. Not only do we have vehicles that haul all of our stuff around, but we can do it in style while enjoying the amenities we’ve come to depend on.
The driving and handling of an SUV is certainly important, but drivers rely on their vehicles in more sophisticated ways. The Hyundai Tucson answered that need with its simple-to-drive but accessory-rich SUV. One way it appeals to vehicle owners is through some pretty impressive features, like Apple CarPlay, which is getting integrated into automobiles more and more every year. Autotrader talks about some features the Tucson is bringing into 2020.
Overview of the new Hyundai Tucson
The Hyundai Tucson is a compact SUV competing against the likes of the Ford Escape, Dodge Journey, Kia Niro, and the Honda HR-V. While it doesn’t exactly outshine the others when it comes to fuel economy or roomy interior space, it seems to make up for it with all the options and features you can customize for your Tucson purchase. Hyundai put some time and effort into the exterior styling as well, giving you nice and sleek but classic design features.
They offer two four-cylinder engines. One is a 2.0-liter, running 164 hp, while the other is a 2.4-liter with 181 hp. Both options come with a six-speed automatic transmission. Car and Driver tested out the 2.0-liter engine but found it to be a little lethargic in their testing. However, they thought the 2.4-liter might deliver better acceleration times than what they got from the smaller engine.
The Tucson’s design doesn’t make it a candidate for off-road paths, but it still handles pretty well for everyday driving. While it comes standard with front-wheel drive, you can opt for all-wheel drive.
Does it have Apple CarPlay?
Apple is a giant with smartphones and tablets. They’ve developed a nice operating system to keep track of all your daily activities and puts them into an easy-to-use format that you can access on your cellphone.
A good majority of drivers in the U. S. use an iPhone, and they carry them everywhere they go. These users have pretty useful apps installed on their device, but accessing the phone while driving is illegal in most states, unless you have a hands-free device. Enter the Apple CarPlay feature.
This is a feature that’s now implemented in many of today’s newer vehicles. It allows you to connect to your iPhone, so you can access some of your phone’s data through the infotainment display system without fumbling around for your phone. You can easily pull up your favorite music playlists and listen to them on the go or use your own navigation system from your iPhone device. If you own an Apple unit, you’ll be pleased to know that all trim levels of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson come standard with the Apple CarPlay feature.
What other features can you find with the Tucson?
The Hyundai Tucson also comes standard with Android Auto, which is the Android version of CarPlay, on a seven-inch infotainment display screen. Standard features for the base package include automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a powertrain warranty that covers you for ten years or 100,000 miles. For the higher-level packages, you can choose an eight-inch display screen that comes with its own navigation system in case you choose not to use your phone’s.
Cloth seating is standard with this model, but if you opt for one of the luxury trim packages, you can have leather seats instead. The cargo space in the Tucson is on the smaller side, but if you fold down the rear seats, you have more than enough room to handle plenty of luggage, groceries or other purchases with little issue.
The iPhone users who can’t live without their phones will be more than happy that the Hyundai Tucson offers the ability to use the Apple CarPlay feature. Being able to bring along the apps you’re more familiar with makes driving this compact SUV even better.
