Dolly Parton is one of history’s most celebrated country music singer/songwriters. However, unlike some artists who like to dabble in spectacular car collections, Parton has a head-scratching luxury car from the 1990s in her garage. Check out her 1997 Cadillac d’Elegance, a car you might not expect to see with a superstar like Dolly Parton.

Parton is an eccentric institution in American country music, but you won’t find her bragging about her car collection too much. Instead, one of the cars fans know about is her 1997 Cadillac d’Elegance, a car with an understated look for such a star. 

The d’Elegance, a V8-powered chapter in another era of Cadillac, is understated compared to its many predecessors and successors. With 275 horsepower on tap, you won’t find the Deville d’Elegance anywhere around the same circles as the hellacious CTS-Vs and Blackwings of more recent lineups. What’s more, the sober styling lacks some of the outrageous and dramatic styling cues of the 1960s Caddys that Dolly Parton has posed with over the years.  

Still, at 209.7 inches, the Cadillac channels the boat-like dimensions of past models. The closest thing to the Deville model in the marque’s current lineup is the 2024 Cadillac CT5, a mid-size luxury car. However, the d’Elegance dwarfs the CT5, measuring nearly a foot and a half longer than the modern Caddy. 

How much is Dolly Parton’s 1997 Cadillac d’Elegance worth today?

Despite Dolly Parton’s wealth, a 1997 Cadillac d’Elegance isn’t worth much in 2023. According to Kelley Blue Book (KBB), the d’Elegance has a typical listing price of just $3,370. I don’t know about you, but it might just be the most cost-effective way to feel like Dolly. 

Parton puts her money where the need is, not necessarily in her garage

Dolly is a prime example of a celebrity putting their money to good use. While you might not find the country music superstar cruising boulevards in a Lamborghini Aventador or Bentley Continental GT, she is a commendable philanthropist. Parton has donated millions of dollars to epidemiology research and flood victims in the last few years alone. Of course, those figures are in addition to her work with various foundations and charities, like the Dollywood Foundation.
