We know it is Tuesday, but this drag race video from carwow is so good we couldn’t wait for the weekend. Generally speaking, we like to show you drag racing videos that feature unique cars most people would not come across in their daily trips around their neighborhoods. Though, now and then, those cars get mixed in with some two-wheeled beasts. Who could forget the three-way drag race between an F1 car, a Porsche 911, and a BMW M1000 RR sportbike?

There is another sportbike featured in this video, and we promise that it is even wilder than the M1000 RR from the previously mentioned drag race. We’ll go deeper into it momentarily. First, let’s look at the other competitor.

Twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracan

The Lamborghini Huracan is not a vehicle that needs much help when it comes to power. The Huracan’s V10 engine makes a mouth-dropping 650 horsepower in naturally aspirated trim. That means the Hurcan’s engine note is musically high and can get goosebumps rising on the skin of the most jaded gearhead.

Though, all of that is only true of a stock Lamborghini Huracan. The Huracan featured in this drag race is certainly not stock at all. The Lamborghini you will see in the video below has two massive turbochargers, which are mated to titanium exhaust pipes. The power adder setup is custom-built by a performance shop called JM Imports.

This turbocharger package includes two turbochargers, titanium exhaust pipes, an intercooler, and a re-programmed ECU. Combined, these components boost the Lamborghini Huracan’s output from 650 horsepower to 1,000 horsepower and 740 ft-lbs of torque.

Believe it or not, this turbo set up from JM Imports is considered an “entry-level” kit! It is shocking to think that customers can opt for even more power. The internals of this Lamborghini’s engine are stock, and so is the transmission. The AWD drivetrain remains, so horsepower is going to each corner. Is 1,000 horsepower enough to beat its two-wheeled opponent?

Kawasaki Ninja H2R superbike

It is easy to forget that motorcycles are much faster than they seem. The layperson may look at a sportbike’s small size, even smaller engine, and assume that it could not match a car’s performance with a much bigger engine. Those people tend to forget about the all-important power-to-weight ratio.

A sportbike does not need to make four-digit horsepower to compete with hypercars. It just needs to produce enough power to give propel its scant weight as fast as possible.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a textbook example of a motorcycle that optimized power for its weight. The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a limited-edition, track-only bike that needs to be seen to be believed.

The H2R comes equipped with a supercharged, 998cc, 4-cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 121.5 ft-lbs of torque. All of that power is stuffed into a motorcycle that only weighs less than 500 lbs. That is a power-to-weight ratio of 1,054 horsepower per metric ton.

That is exceptional performance for a vehicle that costs less than $60k. Unfortunately, all Kawasaki H2R’s have been sold. However, we could argue that watching the bike in this drag race is the next best thing to owning one.

Drag race: Kawasaki Ninja H2R vs. Turbocharged Lamborghini Huracan

It is evident that the Lamborghini has a clear horsepower advantage in this drag race. However, the Lambo is also much heavier than the Kawasaki Ninja H2R. The Ninja has a higher power-to-weight ratio, but it is all being sent to one wheel. The challenge for the rider of the H2R is precise throttle control so that power is efficiently put down to the ground.

The Lamborghini driver needs to worry about keeping all that power on the track and not catching on fire. Assuming both of those things happen, the winner of this race can still be a toss-up. We will not spoil the ending, but we will let you know that this will be one of the interesting videos you watch all day.
