Drivers Consider the Honda CR-V More Than the Toyota RAV4
The numbers are in, and we have an interesting victory for the Honda CR-V over the Toyota RAV4. Drivers shopped for and considered buying the 2022 Honda CR-V more than the 2022 Toyota RAV4, but this didn’t exactly result in more sales.
Is the Honda CR-V better than the Toyota RAV4?
The 2022 Honda CR-V and 2022 Toyota RAV4 both have pros and cons to consider. Also, it’s hard to go wrong with either option. Both of these SUVs are spacious, reliable, safe, and fuel-efficient.
But according to Kelley Blue Book, people considered buying the CR-V more than the RAV4 in 2022. More shoppers checked out the CR-V than the RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid, and it’s worth noting that these SUVs filled the top spots.
The Chevy Tahoe came in fourth place, and the Dodge Durango landed in fifth. But because people thought about buying the CR-V, more doesn’t mean they did. The 2022 RAV4 sold 399,941 models, and the 2022 CR-V moved 238,155 units.
This doesn’t mean that the RAV4 is necessarily better. In fact, the CR-V outranks the RAV4 regarding comfort. The CR-V faces production issues due to supply chain shortages and may have had less inventory available.

You can expect the average Toyota RAV4 model to make it between 200,000 to 250,000 miles, but it’s not uncommon to reach 300,000 miles. The RAV4 can provide about 16 years of service. But we can conclude that the CR-V is a little more reliable.

With the RAV4, you get up to 37.6 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear with up to 69.7 cubes overall. The CR-V also has a little more passenger space. The CR-V has a smooth ride and a quieter interior, too.
But the CR-V can only tow up to 1,500 lbs while the RAV4 can tow up to 3,500 lbs. Also, the RAV4 TRD Off-Road model has off-roading upgrades to tackle the wild. The CR-V has AWD but not a dedicated off-road trim.
People may consider buying the CR-V more because it’s reliable, comfortable, and spacious. But the RAV4 outsells the CR-V and also has plenty of advantages to consider.
