Drivers Don’t Care That This Popular Truck Has the Most Recalls
Why do people ignore red flags? For example, a long list of recalls should be alarming for popular vehicles like the Ford Maverick. But the Ford Maverick is still an incredibly popular option despite having the most recalls out of every truck.
The Ford Maverick has the most recalls
Y’all, the Ford Maverick is the truck that has the most recalls, which is odd. It’s based on the Ford Escape and shares parts with the Ford Bronco Sport. It has also been out for a few years, providing Ford with time to work out a few kinks.
According to iSeeCars, the Maverick is 11th on the list of cars with the most recalls. Then the next truck on the list is the Ram 1500 Classic in 14th place.
The Maverick is expected to have 20.7 recalls in a 30-year period, which is 6.4 times more than the average. The average is 3.2.
But it’s doing better than the Porsche Tycan, which is in the top spot with 70.7 expected 30-year lifetime recalls. It’s 21.9 times higher than the average.
Despite having a crazy rap sheet, the Maverick still has a solid reliability rating. J.D.Power gave it an 85 out of 100. This is an above-average score. Anything between 81 and 90 is above average while scores between 90 and 100 are best.
Most reliability ratings are based on honest and unbiased consumer feedback. Drivers report the issues they’ve faced. But if a recall is performed to solve the issue before the driver knows about it, will they still report it?
Plus recalls correct problems free of charge. So, spending money isn’t part of the frustration. Taking your truck in for service can be a time-consuming headache, though.
So far in 2024, the Maverick has four recalls. In 2023, it was issued seven recalls and in 2022 it faced 11 recalls. That’s 22 recalls since it debuted.
Drivers are still after the Maverick like crazy even though this truck has the most recalls, though. So the tiny truck must be doing something right to be considered worth multiple trips to the service center.
