Electric Bargain Alert: The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT Is a Steal
Holy moly, you might have the chance to score an excellent deal on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT. The Chevy Silverado EV WT is the base model or the Work Truck trim, and it includes tons of goodies without a ridiculously high price.
How much does the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT cost?
You can get started with the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT for about $39,900. The destination charge of $1,695 is not included with this price, so really it starts at around $40,695. We know this price seems high, but it includes plenty of value.
Also, the General Motors vehicles are no longer eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit. But some state tax incentives may apply. Electric vehicles have few parts to service, so they can be less expensive to repair and maintain than gas-powered vehicles.
Before we get to the included value, know that the 2024 Silverado EV WT will arrive in the spring of 2023 as a 2024 model. So, you won’t have to wait until 2024 to get behind the wheel. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro has an MSRP of $39,974 with a destination fee of $1,695.
While the Lightning Pro may arrive before the Silverado EV WT, it has an incredibly competitive price of about $41,669. That’s only $974 more than the Silverado Work Truck.
What comes with the Silverado EV Work Truck?
The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck comes with standard all-wheel drive, rides on the Ultium platform, and has a 24-module battery pack. The WT has a dual-motor setup and pumps out 510 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque. It has an estimated 400-mile range.
It has a little less power than the Chevy Silverado EV RST, which cranks out 664 hp and 780 lb-ft of torque. But the RST First Edition model increases the price to $105,000! Pricing for the regular RST model hasn’t been released. The Ford F-150 Lightning Pro provides 426 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque.
Also, the RST model comes with the Wide Open Watts mode. It sets the motors and batteries into the optional settings to allow the truck to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The EV WT doesn’t include this mode, but that’s fine. Fleet owners probably don’t want their crews racing around.
The Silverado EV WT can tow up to 8,000 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,200 lbs. With the RST, you can carry a payload of up to 1,300 lbs and tow about 10,000 lbs. According to Motor Authority, there will be a Silverado EV model that targets a maximum towing capacity of 20,000 lbs.
With the Ford Lightning Pro, you can tow up to 7,700 lbs and carry a payload of up to 2,000 lbs. The extended-range battery increases the towing capacity to 10,000 lbs.
Plus, the EV Work Truck comes with a Tow/Haul mode, an integrated trailer brake controller, Hitch Guidance, and hitch provisions.
Does the 2024 Silverado EV WT come with good features?
Yes, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT comes with DC fast charging capabilities of up to 35 kW. It allows you to add about 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. It’s available with up to 10 outlets, including a 102-volt outlet in the eTrunk and center console.
Four 120-volt outlets and one 240-volt outlet are located in the bed. With the PowerBase power bar accessory, you gain two more 120-volt outlets and an extra 240-volt outlet. It exports 10.2-kW of power and can charge other EVs.
The interior features an all-black interior with an 11-inch center screen and an 8-inch digital gauge cluster display. It rides on 18-inch wheels and has LED headlights and taillights. But it doesn’t come with the massive glass roof.
For the amount of charge, power, and capability that comes with the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT, the $40,000 price tag is a stellar deal. But there will be a cheaper Chevy Silverado EV model with less range later.
