Elon Musk Fires Shots At Rivian, but Rivian Makes the Better Electric Truck
Tesla CEO Elon Musk naturally isn’t the biggest fan of its rival, the American electric vehicle company Rivian. Musk claims that Lucid and Rivan are on the verge of bankruptcy. Tesla’s CEO can hurl insults and offer advice, but Rivian still makes the better electric pickup truck.
The 2022 Rivian R1T is unmatched
The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition shocked the world as America’s first electric pickup truck. The R1T set things off with a bang because of its amazing performance, specs, and capabilities.
The R1T Launch Edition is currently the quickest electric truck on the market. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in about 3.3 seconds. It uses a quad motor power system to produce 835 horses and 908 lb-ft of torque. Launching the R1T Launch Edition feels like piloting a rocket ship.
The Rivian R1T Launch Edition comes with a whopping eight different driving modes. Rivian’s electric pickup truck is uniquely designed to tackle tough off-road challenges. It uses an independent air suspension to provide a maximum of 14.4 inches of ground clearance.
The R1T has bested the Hell’s Gate off-road trail in Moab, Utah. Elon had some choice words about the company’s future, but Rivian’s electric truck is clearly a winner. Car and Driver gave the electric pickup an Editor’s Choice award.
The Tesla Cybertruck has been delayed for too long
The Tesla Cybertruck debuted way back in 2019. The electric truck initially garnered plenty of attention because of its unique design.
Today, many Tesla fans and automotive enthusiasts have grown tired of waiting on the Cybertruck. Despite being the first electric truck to debut in America, it is shaping up to be one of the last to arrive. Rivian and Ford already beat Tesla to market. General Motors and Stellantis are aiming to release electric pickup trucks soon as well.
The Tesla Cybertruck distinguished itself early on because of how different it was, but other automakers are bringing innovative designs of their own to the table. When the Tesla Cybertruck finally does arrive, will consumers choose it over popular electric trucks with longer production histories like the Ford F-150 Lightning?
Rivian has staying power thanks to the Rivian R1T
Rivian, like many companies, may have to make some hard decisions if the company does fall into recession, as predicted by many experts. That doesn’t mean that the company is destined to fail. Several of Elon Musk’s own companies have been in the same type of financial hot water and have pulled through.
Tesla is a target for many automobile companies because it is the new guy making a lot of noise. It seems that Tesla CEO Elon Musk isn’t above trash-talking the competition. The world’s richest man realizes that the electric vehicle space is about to get much more crowded, and that could put a hurting on his bottom line.
