Uh oh, we smell more trouble in Tesla paradise. Elon Musk is relying on luck to keep the Telsa Cybertruck on schedule. The deliveries of the first Telsa Cybertruck units might be pushed back until further notice. 

Elon Musk is using luck to keep the Tesla Cybertruck on track 

According to Electrek, Elon Musk said he would be lucky to have some of the first Tesla Cybertruck models delivered this year. And nothing suggests confidence like luck, am I right? But on a serious note, production of the Cybertruck hasn’t even started yet. 

It’s looking like the Cybertruck will be delayed until 2022 due to new manufacturing challenges. After viewing the design with Franz von Holzhausen, the Tesla Design Chief, many small improvements needed to be made. For example, the adaptive air suspension needed some work, and they also considered scrapping the design to make a smaller truck. 

Unlike other automakers that tone down vehicles from the concept designs, Musk wants to continue improving upon the design until production. He suggests a lot of small improvements will be made to provide a better truck than what they initially revealed back in November 2019. 

Is the Cybertruck worth waiting for? 

Maybe. This is a difficult question to answer because it’s hard to tell how long the wait will be. Plus, more interest is gaining in the Electric Ford F-150 instead. As people abandon the Cybertruck for the F-150 EV, Tesla may get in more trouble. 

A few deliveries might be made by the end of 2021, but full volume production probably won’t start until 2022. They have completed most of the Tesla Cybertruck engineering, so they are no longer changing the design center level or design level. 

They will be ordering the equipment to manufacture the truck soon. This is the largest Tesla vehicle they have ever built, so a larger machine is needed for the rear of the truck. They will be using an 8,000-ton casting-press instead of a 6,000-ton casting press that’s used for the Tesla Model Y. 

What to expect with the Cybertruck 

Forget 2021. The 2022 Tesla Cybertruck will begin around $39,900. This provides a pretty economical price compared to the Ford F-150 EV, which is expected to start around $55,000. But Ford hasn’t released the official pricing yet. 

According to Car and Driver, the sharp edges exterior made with scratch and dent resistant stainless-steel isn’t the only reason why the Cybertruck is tough. It will be available with all-wheel drive, and when properly equipped, it can tow up to 14,000 lb. 

The Cybertruck will be available with one electric motor, and this variant will be offered with rear-wheel drive. The other variants that feature two or three electric motors can be equipped with AWD. The Cybertruck with three electric motors is expected to reach 0 to 60 mph in about 2.9 seconds, so it can fly! 

The single motor variant has a 250-mile electric range, the dual-motor option provides over 300 miles of range, and the tri-motor model offers about 500 miles of electric range.

Goodies such as a 17-inch display will be on the interior. Plus, the adaptive air suspension provides 16-inches of ground clearance with a 35-degree approach angle and 28-degree departure angle.
