The End Is Near for the Bugatti Chiron Supercar, Only 40 Slots Remain
The Bugatti Chiron supercar hopped on the scene way back during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Since then, the Chiron has been a popular choice for buyers. But just this week, Bugatti announced that only 40 orders remain for the Chiron. Of that, the Chiron Pur Sport and Super Sport are the only available options, but that certainly isn’t a bad thing.
The Bugatti Chiron supercar had a record-breaking 2021
In a press release from Bugatti, the automaker notes that record-breaking demand has brought the Bugatti Chiron to the end of the road. The Chiron had a surge in demand during Q3 of 2021, which brought the limited-production run much closer to the end. There were only 500 Chiron supercars slated for production overall, with 460 of those spoken for. At this time, the Bugatti Chiron is available in the Chiron Pur Sport or Super Sport models.

The final orders for the Chiron and Chiron Sport are already in production at Bugatti’s Molsheim Atelier. After that, the last 40 bespoke units will begin production. The design saw major success after the premiere in 2016, with 300 of the 500 units snapped up in the first 18 months. But then Bugatti saw a significant jump in sales through 2021.

Bugatti says that the market in the U.S. is the most substantial area for the supercar. With that, the Chiron some double and triple sales numbers in some areas during 2021. The return of major in-person events like the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance gave the Chiron an unexpected revival. “The Chiron continues to help drive Bugatti’s momentum, attracting universal acclaim, as the model becomes an increasingly rare proposition,” Bugatti said.
Even though the Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport are the only two available options, the supercar maker says these culminate years of development. In addition to that, the vehicle is ready for track events or just cruising around the city. Since there are only 40 units left, the W16 will remain an icon for ages.
The Bugatti Chiron gets from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds thanks to the 8.0L W16 engine. It offers 1,479 hp and a top speed of 216 mph.
The end is near but it still looks good for the supercar
The regular $3 million Chiron is spoken for, but the Pur Sport and Super Sport are ready to go home. The Super Sport will run you $3.9 million while the Pur Sport comes in at $3.6 million. Not bad for a slice of Bugatti supercar history if you missed the boat the first time.
The Pur Sport was only released in 2020 after years of exceptional development from the Chiron. The supercar offered a new aerodynamic, transmission and weight configuration only available in this trim level. Plus, a 110-pound weight reduction for added benefits.
Finally, the Chiron Super Sport was next in 2021. “As the quintessence of luxury and speed, the Chiron Super Sport has been designed to embrace supreme longitudinal speed without compromising luxury and comfort.” The Super Sport makes up the crème de la crème of the final Bugatti Chiron run.
