People With the Entry-Level 2024 Jeep Gladiator Get Cranky
Sometimes people want just the basics, but that can provide a lack of comfort and convenience. For example, the entry-level Jeep Gladiator model is pretty bare-bones and leaves people literally cranky. See what comes with the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Sport.
What comes standard with the 2024 Jeep Gladiator?
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator Sport has manual locks, windows, and mirrors. That’s why people are literally cranky. Every time they roll their windows down they crank the levels.
I haven’t seen manual windows since I had a 2004 Ford Ranger around 2004. It’s really not a big deal to manually roll down the window for fresh air and at fast food places.
But the manual locks can be annoying, especially if you’re short, and reaching across to the passenger door is a challenge. Plus, trucks like the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado 1500, and Toyota Tacoma have entered the modern era by providing standard power windows.
Other standard Gladiator features include cloth upholstery, a folding soft top, 17-inch steel wheels wrapped in 32-inch all-terrain tires, push-button start, cruise control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and part-time 4×4 with low range gearing.
The sole engine option is the 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It’s available with a six-speed manual transmission and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2024 Gladiator starts at $39,970 including the $1.895 destination fee. The Gladiator Sport S starts at $43,885. It costs $3,915 to upgrade if you want more than the basics.
With the Sport S, you get an available hard top, power windows/locks, keyless entry, remote start, 17-inch alloy wheels, a power locking tailgate, heated side mirrors, a Gorilla glass windshield, automatic headlights/fog lights, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
Add the Trailer Tow and Auxilary Switch Group for $1,295 if you plan to put your Gladiator to work. It can tow up to 7,700 lbs and can carry a payload of up to 1,250 lbs.
The package includes a 240-ap alternator, four programmable auxiliary switches, a class IV receiver hitch, heavy-duty engine cooling, and trailer-hitch zoom.
