Few new vehicles are as controversial as Tesla’s latest mold-breaking EV. It’s the Tesla Cybertruck, and it seems to divide onlookers into two distinct camps. Some joke at the EV’s expense. Others, however, want one so desperately that they’ll build one if need be. That’s exactly what one comedy-inclined Estonian man did with a donor car.

An Estonian man with a flair for comedy built a Tesla Cybertruck to be the only one in his country with one

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you said “Screw it, I’ll do it myself.” No careful planning, saving, and eventual execution. No, no. You want that vehicle so desperately that you’re willing to build a facsimile for yourself. Or at least do the best you can.

Well, that’s the case for Rauno Märtsoo, a resident of the Baltic country of Estonia. See, Märtsoo, part of “Pirates Eye” on YouTube, wants a Tesla Cybertruck. Bad. So much so, that he was willing to build his own version on top of a donor car. Not only that, but Pirates Eye wants to be the only (or at the least the first) person to have a Cybertruck in Estonia.

Now, unless you’ve been living in a cabin in the woods with no internet access, you’ve likely seen pictures, memes, and shorts about the Tesla Cybertruck. It’s a massive, almost comically angular electric pickup truck with a starting price above the $80,000 mark. However, they’re regularly resold for six-figure sums.

However, don’t think this Cybertruck build is a fully-electric homage to the original. No, this build is strictly for appearance’s sake. And, well, you’ll have to have a look for yourself below.

To their credit, the Pirates Eye YouTube channel is self-described as “comedy gold.” So too is the handbuilt Cybertruck. The construction is a wooden frame with paneling to simulate the stainless steel dumpster aesthetic of the real thing. Inside, Märtsoo installed a literal flat-screen TV sideways and a push-button telephone set. I’ll wait while the real young ones look up the latter. Oh, and rotary phone thereafter.
