This Durango model can go up to 180 mph according to Car and Driver. Dodge says it can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. More than that, it has a quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5 seconds as certified by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), according to PR Newswire.

Automaker Stellantis produced 2,000 new 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat models. Tim Kuniskis of Stellantis explained that 2021 is the only year that Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will be produced. That guarantees that the unique performance SUV will be sought after for many years into the future. 

He also said that an undisclosed number of Hellcats have been held in reserve for dealers. That offers a chance for new customers to potentially score a Hellcat that way.

Dodge claims that the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is the most powerful SUV ever sold and it just might be. Along with the dynamic powertrain, the models offer Street (Auto), Sport and Track, and Custom driving models along with Launch Assist and Launch Control for a premium driving experience.

The new Dodge Durango features a newly updated exterior that calls to mind the Dodge Charger Widebody according to Car and Driver. The interior got some updates too. There’s a new instrument panel. There’s also a new 10.1-inch touchscreen for the Uconnect 5 infotainment system in higher trims.

The SRT Hellcat trim is one of six trim levels and is all-wheel drive only.

It’s a big deal

If three rows, all that power, and a sharp interior and exterior aren’t enough for you, there’s more. Basically, the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat can carry more and tow more with a quicker quarter-mile time than any other SUV that’s currently available.

Did you know the SRT Hellcat can tow up to a class-leading 8,700 pounds when equipped with the Tow N’ Go Package? It also features a specially-tuned suspension with 20-inch-by-10-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero all-season tires or Pirelli P Zero three-season tires as an option. It has adaptive dampers too.

The high-performing Brembo brake system, according to Car and Driver, clamps around its 13.8-inch rear discs with four-piston binders and 15.75-inch front rotors with their six-piston calipers. It offers this powerful vehicle great stopping power.

The price? That obviously didn’t pose an issue for Durango fans. The base 2021 Dodge Durango starts at $33,260. With a starting price of $82,490, almost $50,000 more, the SRT Hellcat models still sold out quickly. When you consider that you could buy 2.5 standard 2021 Dodge Durango models for the price of one 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, the fact that the limited run of this high-performance SUV sold out in a few weeks is pretty impressive.
