If there is one notorious Ford SUV, it is the Bronco. Most sport utility vehicles aren’t famous for any reason, but the 2023 Ford Bronco has made a name for itself this time around. And while most automakers are phasing out manual transmissions altogether, Ford is still embracing it for now. What 2023 Ford Bronco trim has a manual transmission?
The base model 2023 Ford Bronco gets a manual transmission as the standard option, but it isn’t that simple. Ford may have made the manual transmission standard on the base model, but it has been unavailable for a while. Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) issues and supply chain problems, production has been slow.
The Ford SUV base model with the manual transmission is $37,330. That means shoppers must pay $1,595 on top of the MSRP to get the 10-speed automatic transmission. With no other options added, that works out to $38,925 with the 2.3L EcoBoost inline-four engine.

Those who select the manual transmission must get the 2.3L EcoBoost mentioned previously. It might be easier to find one of these options already built and at a dealership somewhere since there is limited availability for new builds.
What other 2023 Ford Bronco trims have the standard manual?
The 2023 Ford Bronco Big Bend four-door and two-door come with a manual transmission. Ford says this version is for mainstream off-roading, starting at $38,880 this year. Ford added its Terrain Management System with six G.O.A.T. Modes for enhanced traction.
The Black Diamond trim also has a manual transmission. It starts at $41,250 this year and comes pretty well-equipped for off-roading situations. Ford says the Black Diamond is a good choice for next-level outdoor adventures. With some 32-inch all-terrain tires, rock rails, and heavy-duty bash plates, the Black Diamond is ready for adventure. Inside, marine-grade vinyl seats make life easier.
Finally, the Heritage Bronco celebrates the original 1966 Ford Bronco with a retro look. Taking design cues from that original SUV, the new version has plaid cloth seats and an Oxford white instrument panel. It also gets square fenders and 17-inch Oxford white wheels.
There are more manual Bronco options than automatic
Don’t forget the Bronco Badlands! Ford says this version is for extreme off-roading, and it is one of the top 2023 Ford Bronco trims with a manual transmission. With Bilstein monotube shocks, stabilizing bar disconnect, and front/rear locking differentials, there isn’t much this Bronco can’t do. It starts at $47,395 with the manual transmission.
The good news is that more Bronco trim levels are available with the manual transmission than without. You can’t get the Base trim in a four-door configuration with the manual, and the Outer Banks only comes with the 10-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the Wildtrak, Heritage Limited, and Raptor trims are only available with an automatic transmission.
There are a lot of 2023 Ford Bronco trim levels with manual transmissions, but some might be harder to get a hold of than others. Your local dealership might be an excellent resource to see if your combination is available for order or if one is already available. Limited availability has been a common situation this year, even though Ford has worked hard to ramp up production.
