The Rivian R1T is America’s first electric pickup truck

Rivian began making noise in the automotive scene when it secured investments from Ford Motor Company. The electric vehicle automaker created one of the most impactful electric pickup trucks on the market. The Rivian R1T Launch Edition is America’s first fully-electric mass-produced pickup truck, and boy, has it set expectations high.

The R1T Launch Edition uses a quad-motor powertrain system to produce 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque. The electric pickup truck is a powerhouse that’s amazingly quick. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds.

The most affordable R1T trim is the R1T Adventure since the R1T Explore was axed. The 2023 Rivian R1T Adventure starts at $73,000. So, if Tesla wants to compete with the Rivian R1T, it better produce a more affordable electric pickup truck. Experts estimate that the Cybertruck will start at around $40K, but the automaker is known for volatile pricing.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is the most popular electric pickup truck

There are a ridiculous amount of Cybertruck pre-orders, but how many consumers will actually follow through with a Tesla Cybertruck purchase once it’s finally available? The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning racked up around 200,000 pre-orders, and as far as we know, most of those pre-orders have become sales as the Blue Oval works on delivering the electric pickups.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is the second electric pickup truck to become available to the American public. it’s far more popular than the R1T because of its more affordable starting price and its relation to America’s favorite truck: the Ford F-150. The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is significantly more expensive than the debut model year, but it’s still the electric pickup truck to beat.

The Chevy Silverado EV is coming to compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning

General Motors is determined to become a major player in the EV space. CEO Mary Barra expressed that she believed that the Chevy Silverado EV would be the best electric pickup truck option on the market once it arrived. The Silverado EV RST final trim’s performance specs certainly bolster the CEO’s confidence.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV will directly compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning. It’s expected to start within the same price range. Chevy will offer several different trims. from an affordable WT( Work Truck) to the RST (Rally Sport Truck). Since the gas-powered Silverado is a top-three best-selling full-size pickup truck, the Tesla Cybertruck will compete against it to challenge the Ford F-150 Lightning.
