Everything You Need to Know About the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor
That roar in the distance isn’t a dinosaur. It’s actually just the Ford Ranger Raptor dominating the wild. We don’t mean to be corny, but this mid-size truck is a true beast that deserves its time in the spotlight. Check out what you need to know about the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor.
What comes with the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor?
The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor packs a serious punch with its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that provides 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters.
Driving modes include Normal, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Sport, Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja. Baja keeps the turbo spinning for three seconds after you take your foot off the accelerator to prevent power loss.
In Baja mode, the active valve exhaust has the loudest note, stability and traction controls are reduced, and the dampers are switched to ‘off-road’ with faster throttle and transmission responses.
It rides on 17-inch bead-lock capable wheels wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain KO3 tires. To handle beatings, it has upgraded front rails, shock towers, rear shock brackets, and suspension mounts. It has a 3.5-inch widened track as well.
Suspension upgrades include new long-travel aluminum upper and lower control arms, Watts linkage rear setup, and trailing arms to enhance stability. Ford Media reports a two-speed transfer case and locking differentials in the front and rear.
Each corner has a 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve Internal Bypass Shock with coilovers in the front and piggyback reservoirs in the rear. Teflon-infused oil in the shocks helps reduce friction. Skid plates protect the undercarriage.
