When you imagine a life of luxury, you naturally picture yourself being driven around in your ultra-luxury automobile, with every amenity at your fingertips. While a Rolls-Royce may be the go-to fantasy car, the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is proving itself a serious contender in the world of top-end vehicles. What comes with the high-end price tag of the Mercedes-Maybach?

The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a luxury apartment on wheels

The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a stretched-out powerhouse designed for relaxation. Every detail has been thought of, and even though it is wildly expensive, to its buyers, the price reflects the level of quality and workmanship that go into every individual vehicle. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is worth it thanks to insane luxury features and refinement.

This level of vehicle is all about the rear seat occupants. They can stretch out in plush, first-class air-style seats. Hand-stitched, supple leather upholstery with high-quality leather pillows is just the beginning. Grab a glass of champagne from the rear refrigerator, pour it into silver champagne flutes, and watch the world go by. In the four-seat configuration, a massage function is of course available, and there’s even a fragrance system to enjoy your favorite aromatherapy.

What does the Mercedes-Maybach price buy?

According to MotorTrend, the starting MSRP is $185,950. At that price, your expectations are high, and the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach does not disappoint. In addition to opulent surroundings and a fabulous moonroof, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is loaded with entertainment features. Just input your biometric authentication, and the vehicle’s many screens come to life.

For rear-seat passengers, dual rear-seat entertainment touchscreens provide for every need. For the driver, a 12.8-inch touchscreen system loaded with Mercedes-Benz’s operating system is the heart of the driving experience, with a heads-up display that features augmented reality for a one-of-a-kind driving experience. The immersive entertainment experience continues with the world-class audio system. A 1,750-watt Burmester system with 30 speakers and 4D surround sound makes for a sound like nothing you’ve ever heard inside a car.

The power under the hood comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that features integrated EQ Boost hybridization. It kicks out 496 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, and it’s paired with a smooth nine-speed automatic. It has a unique rear-wheel steering system and standard all-wheel drive, and it features adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adaptation based on your route. Safety includes active steering, active blind-spot warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-change assist, and lane-keep assist.

The 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S580 is based on the seventh-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but the wheelbase is 7.1 inches longer. Other exclusive details that set it apart are light-up Maybach exterior badges, a new signature front grille, unique chrome trim, and standard 20-inch forged wheels. The S580 has optional hand-painted two-tone paint and a Maybach-exclusive hood and hood ornament.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is actually a bargain

Up against its rivals in the luxury class, the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S580 is actually priced the lowest. It starts at $185,950, which is quite a bit less than the Bentley Flying Spur or the Rolls-Royce Ghost. The Flying Spur, a hallmark of luxurious refinement, comes in just above $200,000, and the Rolls-Royce Ghost has a starting price of a whopping $332,500.

For world-class luxury in the high-end vehicle market, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is proving itself against its rivals. The technological and tactical experience inside the 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class transports you to another world – or at least it lets you escape from this one in a way that only this level of vehicle can.
