Three Ford trucks made KBB’s top 10 in resale value
Three Ford trucks, the F-Series, Maverick, and Ranger, all made KBB‘s list of top 10 vehicles that hold resale value for 2022. The Maverick came in at No. 4 at 59.5% five-year resale value. Coming in at No. 8 is the Ford F-Series with 57.3%. The Ranger finished at No. 9 with a five-year resale value of 56.7%.
The list also included the Tesla Model X at No. 7 with 57.6%, and the classic Chevy Corvette tied the Maverick at No. 4 with 59.5%. At No. 1, the Toyota Tundra had a five-year resale value of 70.2%.
The Maverick unexpectedly beat out both the F-Series and the Ranger
The Ford Maverick is still a brand-new truck, yet KBB predicts that it will still be worth 59.5% of what it costs now in five years. Ford built this truck to be a light-duty pickup with a four-cylinder hybrid engine that can get up to 42 mpg in the city. Not surprisingly, Mavericks continue to hold their value and have already surpassed sales of the Ford Ranger.
Another contributor to its popularity is its surprising affordability. The MSRP for the Maverick is very affordable at $22,195 to $27,955, nearly the price of most sedans on the market. For those looking for a starter truck, that price tag is very attractive.
The Ford F-150 is still a great buy
Despite the ratings from KBB, the Ford F-150 is still an excellent choice for consumers concerned with resale value. Because of its long history, the F-150 has solidified itself as one of the toughest and most reliable trucks on the market.
One of the reasons that the F-150 holds its value is because it has been the number one selling truck for 46 years straight. You don’t get that spot and hold it for so long unless you have a winning recipe, and it seems that Ford has found it in the F-150.
