3 Family Benefits With Driving the 2024 Mazda CX-90
Your family SUV options are growing. Mazda doesn’t have the best reputation for family vehicles, but it’s changing the game. See why driving the 2024 Mazda CX-90 provides family benefits.
Family benefits with driving the 2024 Mazda CX-90
I miss the Mazda CX-9 but I understand why Mazda replaced it with the larger CX-90. At 5’1”, the CX-9 was the perfect comfy size.
However, I’m smaller than the average person and kids tend to get taller than me when they’re in middle school. The CX-9 was too cramped for families, but driving the 2024 Mazda CX-90 proves it greatly improved.
1. The Mazda CX-90 is spacious
While space for personal items is limited in the front, the CX-90 has plenty of trays and cubbies to take advantage of. The center console in the front is shallow, but there’s a larger one in the second row. Also, each row has plenty of cupholders.
You can access up to 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 40.0 cubes behind the second row, and 75.2 cubes overall. If you need more space, use the roof rails to place items on the roof and you can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
Also, there is plenty of space in each row. The front and second rows allow adults of all sizes to stretch out.
I was worried about access to the third row because the center console between the captain’s chairs is in the way, but the seats easily slide forward with tons of room to get around them.
The third row is a bit smaller, but my knees had about three inches of extra space behind the back of the second row. I would be happy back there during shorter trips.
2. The CX-90 is comfortable
Driving the 2024 Mada CX-90 will keep your entire family comfortable and may even reduce the chance of carsickness.
First of all, it has a really smooth ride, even on gravel. The ride is jitter-free and quickly settles larger impacts.
Secondly, the Mazda CX-90 has a pretty quiet interior. While wind and road noise is noticeable at higher speeds, it’s quieter than the popular Toyota RAV4. However, there is an occasional engine roar under hard accelerations.
There are large air vents in each row to provide cool air for all of your passengers. Also, the panoramic sunroof can be opened for extra fresh air.
3. The 2024 CX-90 is easy
Driving the 2024 Mazda CX-90 provides a relaxed, low-effort experience. The tech is straightforward to master without being distracting. Connecting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto takes no time.
The CX-90 has a smaller turning radius than the CX-9. Despite being 7.0 inches longer, it’s easier to navigate around tight areas.
Higher trim levels with the available parking sensor and 360-degree display make it even easier to avoid obstacles in the woods or other tight spaces.
The doors open wide for convenient access and the rear hatch also opens wide with a low liftover height to simplify loading bulky or heavy cargo.
Plus, the CX-90 is a Top Safety Pick+ winner with standard forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping assist, drowsy driver warning, safe exit assist, and rear seat reminder.
