The Lamborghini Miura is referred to as one of the world’s fastest sports cars. The Lamborghini Italian automobile brand manufactured the car between 1966 and 1973. The founder of the brand, Ferruccio Lamborghini, produced tractors before manufacturing supercars. However, today, this brand has set up a grand presence in manufacturing the top supercars with high-end designs and unmatchable performance. The Lamborghini Miura’s ground-breaking evolution

In 1967, the first version of the car, the Lamborghini Miura P400, was brought up among the masses. The best feature of the original was its powerful V12 engine, along with a five-speed gearbox and an engine output of 350 horsepower. Within three years, 474 units were manufactured and sold. While the Miura P400 was excellent in terms of performance, it lacked stability. For this reason, the automaker came up with the Lamborghini Miura P400 S that provided a reinforced chassis. 

In 1971, the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV was developed. It had a powerful and robust engine with a capacity of 385 horsepower. Its wide tires, faster cams, augmented ports, broadened rear track, isolated engine sump, and more made the version more effective and efficient. The version offered top handling characteristics but lacked the speed of its predecessors. 

In 1968, Bertone, an Italian automaker, designed the Lamborghini Miura Roadster that launched at the Brussels Auto Show. One of the best things about this Miura that set it apart from the other versions was an open top.

The story of Eddie Van Halen’s Miura

There is no doubt that this selection is one of the rarest supercars in the world. What makes it more unique is that it was the daily driver of rock star Eddie Van Halen. According to Top Speed, during the shooting of his famous song, “Panama,” the star brought his Lamborghini to the studio.

This was done to record the few beats of his new song. John Temerian, who owned a vintage and exotic car dealership in Miami, explained that the rock star drove his Lamborghini in Beverly Hills streets. The car was quite near Eddie’s heart as it was the gift from Valerie Bertinelli, his first wife.

The sentimental value of the car is reflected by their wedding date, “APR 11” curated on it. As per the statement given by John Temerian, the car features unique and attention-grabbing bodywork. Additionally, its large wheels add a little more glory to the vehicle. 

Now, Eddie Van Halen’s Lamborghini Miura is headed to Italy to get its original color and finish back. Wide wheels will also be added to complete the whole look. The car will likely take a few years for restoration. Once everything is completed, the vehicle will come up for sale.
