The peak charge rate is essentially how fast the electric vehicle can move electrons from the charger to the battery. The 2022 Hummer EV Pickup can charge up to 350 kW, the fastest charging electric SUV on the market. The 22 Hummer EV Pickup is only available with the tri-motor setup, which gets 329 miles on a charge. No matter how you slice it, the Hummer EV Pickup is the fastest charging electric SUV or truck on the market right now at 350 kW.

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is one of the fastest-charging electric SUVs that you can’t buy yet

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV is not far behind with a peak charging rate of 300 kW. While it isn’t far behind in charging speeds, it is still a 2024 vehicle. The pickup came first, which will mean a more seamless experience for the SUV. Thanks to the GM Ultium Platform, the Hummer EV SUV can charge pretty quickly. Eventually, dual-motor and tri-motor options will be available with two different battery packs. The larger of the two is rated for the 300 kW peak charging rate and will have a range of 250 miles to 350 miles.

Don’t forget the 2022 Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model X

Both the 2022 Tesla Model Y and 2022 Tesla Model X electric SUV have a peak charge rate of 250 kW. The Model Y gets a 75 kWh battery pack coupled with a dual-motor with all-wheel drive. This offers buyers 465 hp and 310 miles of range. There are rumors of another configuration of the Model Y hitting the market eventually, but this is the most recent version.

The 2022 Tesla Model X got a 100 kWh battery this year. Buyers can opt for a dual-motor or tri-motor configuration with all-wheel drive. The Model X has a range of 332 miles and is also rated for 250 kW charging. Both the Model X and Model Y are some of the fastest-charging electric SUVs on the market this year.

The 2022 Kia EV6 is one of the fastest-charging electric SUVs

As far as the 2022 Kia EV6 goes, Kia offers a few variations for this electric SUV. Buyers can opt for 58.0 of 77.4 kWh battery packs, as well as single or dual motor options. Only the 77.4 kWh battery pack is rated for 240 kW charging, though. The smaller battery pack is limited to 195 kW charging. Kia says the 2022 EV6 can reach 310 miles on a single charge. That still makes it one of the fastest-charging electric SUVs available this year.
